Consultant Dermatologist - Permanent

The salary for this position is based on the current Senior Medical and Dental Officer collective agreement dependent on skills, experience, and vocational registration in NZ. SECA | ASMS

In addition to your salary, you will:

The successful applicant will:

• conduct thorough dermatological assessments and provide accurate diagnoses for patients in the Nelson Marlborough region
• educate patients on skincare, prevention, and treatment options
• develop and implement effective treatment plans for various skin conditions
• perform dermatological procedures, including biopsies, excisions, and laser treatments
• collaborate with multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care
• collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans and quality services to improve the health of the population in the regions
• stay current with advancements in dermatology and integrate new knowledge into practice
• have an opportunity to achieve work/life balance and enjoy one of New Zealand's most sought-after regions.

This role involves providing comprehensive dermatological care to patients across the Nelson and Blenheim regions. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, addressing a wide range of dermatological conditions.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

The ideal applicant will:

• have an FRACP with subspecialist training recognised by the Dermatology Society
• be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational scope of Dermatology with the Medical Council of New Zealand
• have proven experience in a clinical dermatology setting
• be looking to work independently as a dermatologist in provincial hospitals
• demonstrate experience in diagnosing and procedural skills
• have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary team to promote a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines
• demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development and quality improvement.
