Where to Stream:

Boyhood

While the DVD’s days might be numbered, there are still plenty of people who watch them. And for Netflix, of all places, this is a very good thing, reports The New York Times. According to the paper, the company still has 5.3 million DVD subscribers. That’s a significant drop from its peak of 20 million in 2010, but its enough to earn the company some serious cash. In fact, the Times reports that the Netflix’s DVD division is helping pay for the company’s rapid (and very welcome) streaming expansion. The reason: “[The] division continues to churn out hundreds of millions of dollars in profit a year.” Makes sense why the company isn’t eager to get rid of the division just yet.
