Mechanical Engineer for Cell Design (m/f/x)

Within your position you will be dealing with the following topics:

  • Design enclosures according to standards and best-known practices
  • Create mechanical and thermal simulations
  • Carry out testing of our products together with external organizations
  • Instruct and guide the production of our products as needed
  • Find components and solutions that meet the needs of the product
  • Work through relevant standards to understand design requirements
  • Prepare product development documentation for production (drawings, work instructions, management documentation, etc.)
  • Manage your own projects independently, but also support junior engineers


Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least two years' experience in mechanical design
  • Experience with Battery Cell- or Pack design or related experience in battery industry would be highly preferrable
  • Previous experience with mass production and manufacturability would be very valued
  • Strong experience with 3D modeling software Solidworks.
  • Great skills at modelling, creating technical drawings and technical writing
  • Capability of using hand- and power tools
  • Understanding of quality tools such as DFMEA, Significant characteristics etc
  • Knowledge of cell design and electrical parameters relevant to cells
  • Analytical ability to solve problems in general
  • Good self-management and willingness to face challenges
  • Ability to explain thought process well, brainstorm & generate ideas, finding creative solutions
  • Ability to work independently but being integral part of the team that is mostly located in Estonia
  • You are a great communicator in English, both orally and in writing, to keep your workflow moving


Nice to have:

  • Scripting data analysis capability.
  • Use of automotive core tools
  • Previous experiences working with electrical standards
  • Supercapacitor/battery industry knowledge
  • The position requires occasional travel
