We want to take a moment to reflect and celebrate our collection. ☀ ❣ What started as a new project has become a seamless part of our business, thanks to teamwork and the involvement of our colleagues at Sportech Solutions. Our commitment to great teamwork achieved great customer satisfaction in daily match operations, while adding alongside to our DFL and FPF services, we successfully launched our VAR services in the MLS, managing multiple major projects concurrently.  🛠 Looking ahead, we are committed to pushing innovative ideas and expanding our VAR services in the second half of the year. We are constantly exploring new ways to enhance the fan experience and improve the integrity of the game through cutting-edge technology. ❗❗❗ After the summer break, we are excited to announce the introduction of GLT to the DFL 2nd league. ✅ So it works in the US, but somehow ❌ not (yet?) in Europe. A great change for MLS fans. Major League Soccer 🇺🇸 (#MLS) has recently introduced in-stadium #VAR announcements, where the referee explains Video Assistant Referee (VAR) decisions to both fans in attendance and those watching the #broadcast. This transparent communication of crucial decisions is something that the sport and its viewers demand. Or am I totally wrong? 🔴 Quo vadis, Europe? It's puzzling why European leagues, which are the most popular and widely watched in the world, haven't yet embraced approach that is already commonplace in other team sports: 🏉 American football: Referees explain penalties, challenges, scoring decisions. 🏀 Basketball: Referees clarify foul calls, replay reviews and game-changing situations. 🏒 Hockey: referees provide explanations for penalties and challenges. 🏉 Rugby: Referees communicate point awards, penalties and key decisions. And now ⚽ Football / Soccer... but in 🇺🇸*. 🗣🏟 = This kind of transparency is vital for building trust and understanding between officials, players and fans. --- *Sportec Solutions provides #FIFA-approved VAR technology for MLS matches, Leagues Cup fixtures and the MLS All-Star Game in 2024.     The Endgame of European football leagues and cups doesn’t fail in providing exciting moments for players and fans across various leagues. Even before approaching the long awaited European Championship new headlines keep popping up about exciting last second situations or controversial moments on the pitch. In recent high stakes matches, we encountered a recurring challenge: the absence of the Goal Line Technology. Nowadays, VAR allows match officials to review key incidents, whether its determining offside or assessing fouls. VAR provides a second look to minimize errors. But is that true for the whole field ? Imagine… in a highly competitive match your favorite team battles for a spot in the league or even the championship will be decided in this match Suddenly your team attacks, a cross comes in, the attacker takes the header, the ball is scratched from behind the goal line.. goal! Or not ? the attackers saw the ball behind the line, while the defenders keep the ball in game and continue playing. VAR cannot get an angle of the situation and the referees decision.. controversial. Is some margin of error acceptable in these games? Should transparency be provided across the whole pitch ? While since its implementation our technology has maintained a flawless record in providing correct data, the subjective human interpretation remains a factor in the decision-making on the field. As decisions always have the ever so slight chance to be viewed from a different perspective and judgements of situations, it can lead to varying interpretations of the games flow. So, without the precise measurement provided by the GLT, especially for the goal area where most situations are chaotic, the clarity needed to determine whether a goal has been scored or not, is lacking. This can bring us to controversial decisions and resulting frustration and disputes across fans and players. Overall, implementing GLT brings more transparency adding to the already almost standardized VAR technology. Even though VAR improves on-field transparency, it often fails to provide correct data in the highly competitive goaline area, impacting the integrity and enjoyment of football. GLT only has two options: Goal or No Goal, while VAR gives room for interpretation. 🚀 MLS start – Check and ready to roll 🚀 ⚽We are excited to announce that Sportec Solutions AG has expanded its partnership with the Major League Soccer (MLS) to become their official live match data gatherer provider! In addition, Vieww's FIFA-approved Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology and state-of-the-art Medical Sideline Review (MSR) will be added to their services from this year until 2030. During our trip together, services will be provided for MLS league matches, cup competitions and All-Star games, while the new state-of-the-art operations center in Dallas will allow for fully remote operations on both coasts. The facility includes 15 VAR workstations, 15 medical sideline review workstations and space for live match data acquisition, allowing the operation of up to 15 matches at the same time, with plenty of room to grow. In 2024 alone, we will see around 600 VAR and MSR operations and over 1,200 event data operations in the Operations Centre! What an exciting start to the new year and what an exciting journey ahead! How useful is GLT when we have VAR ? Do we need both ? or How do the two technologies complement each other ? These are the questions on the minds of passionate football fans and experts alike when we discuss about the use of video solutions in football.... The implementation of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) marks an important step towards fairness and accuracy in football. While VAR has undoubtedly contributed to minimising wrong decisions, it is not sufficient on its own to clarify decisive moments without doubt in the game. A recent example from the second Bundesliga highlights the continued relevance of both technologies : During the charged match between Hansa Rostock and Holstein Kiel, a decisive moment happened in the 58th minute. Following a standard situation, the ball was crossed into the Rostock penalty area where Nico Neidhart (Rostock) appeared to save a header on the line from Timo Beckers (Kiel). Although the goal was initially disallowed, the referee decided to eventually award the goal after a tip-off from the VAR. So why even the use of GLT ? Even if VAR can help clarify critical situations in front of or inside the goal, it cannot be guaranteed to make objective and precise decisions. Since goal decisions are often made with millimeter precision, there is no room for interpretation here - neither for the referee nor for the fans. This not only contributes to fairness and justice, but also strengthens spectators' confidence in the integrity of the game. While VAR is undoubtedly a significant achievement, it remains to be noted that the introduction of GLT further enhances the credibility of the sport and deepens the engagement, as well as the spectators' experience of the game. Decisions can be done immediately due to GLTs fast feedback to the referee, without having to review a situation. Knowing that the technological support is in place to objectively assess key moments, creates an even more intense and trusting bond between fans and the game. As a passionate supporter of football and an advocate of fairness in sport, I firmly believe that both technologies, as well as the prospect of more fascinating technologies, represent a significant improvement that will significantly enrich not only the quality of the game, but also the spectator experience. #Vieww #Soccer #TechnologyInSport #GLT #VAR #SpectatorExperience #Fairness

In the world of football, precision, accuracy, and fairness are paramount. The seamless integration of technology into the sport has played a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of the game. It is with great pride and excitement that we were entrusted with the responsibility of providing our GLT and VAR in numerous occasions for national games and football leagues. As we accompanied Germany’s national team this Saturday on their friendly match vs Japan, at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg and this Tuesday vs France, at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund. Whereas today we we will turn our attention to Portugal Europe qualifier match vs Luxembourg on Monday in the Estadio Algarve aswell. Providing and management of GLT and VAR operations for the German team, Portugal or other countries is a momentous occasion for us. These opportunities do not only serve as a significant milestones in our development, but also exemplifies the ever-evolving nature of football as we were able to observe in the recent past.
