🔔 Attention M^0 Ecosystem! We are thrilled to publish the release of the proposed draft version of M^0’s network rules. This crucial framework, once approved through the M^0 Two Token Governor (Governance), will outline the core rules of engagement for all actors within our ecosystem, extending beyond the enforceable domain of the protocol's smart contracts. Although not yet official - governance needs to vote and approve it over the next voting cycle, we're seeking industry feedback in the spirit of transparency. The Adopted Guidance describes actors, characteristics, as well as business practices, binding contracts, and business behavior. It also indicates, among other things, the type and composition of collateral that is eligible to back $M. The expectation is that as the ecosystem continues to grow and evolve, the Adopted Guidance will also through appropriate Governance oversight and approval. What is $M? $M is a fungible token that can be generated by a Minter by locking Eligible Collateral, currently short term T-bills, in a secure off-chain facility. Once generated, a Minter can then sell these tokens into the market. $M is designed to be a robust representation of an exogenous collateral basket – a relationship enforced by the financial structure and market incentives of its generators. With Minters selling and buying back these tokens at the price of $1, $M serves as a cryptodollar, offering a stable, digital representation of the US dollar. Addtionally, $M can be used as raw material to create other cryptodollar products. The M^0 protocol, powering $M, aims to make better money.
