At Flender, we celebrate our next milestone: the first Wind Turbine Generators manufactured at our Chennai plant in India. Together with esteemed guests from our customer Nordex India as well as Jörg Sieber, Head of Wind Generators, our Indian colleagues celebrated this significant milestone with the transport of the first generators to Nordex India. The newly developed generator assembly facility compliments the range of wind turbine gearboxes produced at the site. We further enhance the support of local demands from our customers in the wind industry. Flender wins the Dragon Boat Festival! On June 10, 2024, the Haihe River Dragon Boat Race took place in Tianjin. This year, Flender took part in the festival for the fourth time, and we are excited to announce that we have taken first place in the race for the first time ever! End of June our CFO for our Chinese locations Geertje Richter has been invited to be part of the visit of German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Change Robert Habeck and his delegation to China. At the roundtable organized by the AHK Greater China she sat together with Maximilian Butek, Executive Director of the German Chamber of Commerce in China, Bernhard Kluttig, Director General for Industry Policy and further representatives of the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz. After Minister Habeck’s visits to Flender in the last year this was a great opportunity to continue the ongoing dialogue with the BMWK. Together with representatives from other German companies in China, Geertje Richter talked about the current business environment, identifying both opportunities and challenges. Especially interesting for us were the discussions around sustainability and circular economy. As a frontrunner in this sphere, we are very happy to see that also China is approaching these topics with growing interest and speed. All parties expressed their interest in and emphasized the importance of a continued open dialogue between Europe and China. At Flender, we always go the extra mile to provide our customers with the best possible service. We are therefore extremely proud to introduce a new successful project to you. One of our Belgian customers in the automotive steel industry needed to enhance production capacity while minimizing design changes to the existing drivetrain. They sought a solution that would seamlessly integrate into their existing setup, all while keeping renovation costs to a minimum. A challenge we were only too happy to accept! How did we get to work? We provided three solutions for our client: State of the art powertrain approach with modern gear units FZG. Perfectly dimensioned solution thanks to Flender’s expertise. A configuration that fits the right powertrain, with the least mechanical impact, was chosen. Thanks to these solutions, the client experiences no unforeseen downtimes with the selected Flender drivetrain. And to top it off: no major changes had to be made to the original swing base. Only the drivetrain had to be replaced. Thank you to the entire team that worked on this project. Thanks to you guys it became a success! Once again this year, Flender in Graffenstaden, France is taking part in the "Au Boulot à Vélo" challenge organised by Strasbourg's Eurometropole. The challenge is held every year from 1 to 30 June. The principle of the challenge is simple: It's a team competition in which each participating establishment - company, association, administration, local authority - has to accumulate the greatest number of kilometres cycled by its employees on home-to-work and/or work-to-work journeys, and also collect the beacons over a period of several weeks. Establishments are then ranked according to their score. The challenge rewards establishments that are able to mobilise a large number of participants who take part regularly over a 4-week period. Each establishment is placed in a category according to its status (public or private) and its size (number of employees). With the participation of 45 of our employees, we cycled 7,467 km!
