Aiala's journey is as diverse as it is inspiring. Starting in Portugal with a Bachelor’s in Business Communication, she moved to Vienna for a Master’s in International Tourism Management. Her career kicked off in tourism, then transitioned to the medical sector, and now she’s making a mark in the automotive industry with DeepDrive. At DeepDrive, Aiala focuses on finance support and legal aspects. She ensures compliance with industry standards like ISO 9000 and TISAX, helps the company acquire further certifications, and establishes essential processes and systems. She is also involved in the Women in Automotive mentorship program, an initiative by an organization we partner with to support and empower our female colleagues in the industry. Aiala appreciates DeepDrive’s inclusive and supportive culture. Benedikt's journey from student to automotive innovator began at the Technical University of Munich, where his love for control systems was sparked by developing the vehicle dynamic control system for a four-wheel-drive electric race car with the Formula Student team. His career took off at Argo AI, focusing on the motion control of autonomous vehicles. After Argo AI shut down, Benedikt sought to stay in a more agile environment and joined DeepDrive, attracted by its dynamic culture. At DeepDrive, he plays a crucial role in the software team, focusing on the testing and verification of DeepDrive’s embedded software code. Passionate about automated testing, Benedikt leverages modern tools to ensure the efficient and functionally safe software deployment. Motivated by the potential of DeepDrive's technology to enhance traffic efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions, Benedikt's work aligns with his commitment to sustainability and innovation. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends and engaging in outdoor activities like skiing, mountaineering, and kite surfing. Last week, we proudly announced our membership with Tech for Net Zero. This week, we're already making an impact by joining forces with 39 European cleantech innovators, investors, industry associations, researchers, and NGOs to call on the European Investment Bank (EIB) to expand its guarantee mechanisms. Our collective letter to EIB President Nadia Calviño and Chairman of the Board Vincent Van Peteghem emphasizes the need to unlock EU industrial competitiveness through enhanced guarantees. These guarantees are crucial for securing the energy transition and Europe's resilience, particularly in sectors like batteries, long-term energy storage systems, electrolyzers, solar photovoltaics, industrial heat pumps, and innovative renewable energies. We are thrilled to see coverage of this important initiative by Sustainable Views from the Financial Times, emphasising how EIB-backed cleantech guarantees can strategically leverage hundreds of billions of private investments. Tagesspiegel also highlighted the significance of expanding EIB guarantees to support the cleantech industry. As noted in their articles, such measures are essential to meet Europe's climate and energy goals for 2030, with investments needing to double to an additional €406 billion per year. The EIB's Strategic Roadmap for 2024–29 underscores the importance of these guarantees in supporting European SMEs and startups, which are the backbone of the EU economy. Together, with the power of collaboration, we can make a real impact. Initiatives like these are vital for driving forward the green transition and building a sustainable future. 🚀 Meet Hussain, a dedicated engineering associate. With a background in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan, Hussain discovered his passion for robotics during his studies, developing projects like a Robot Dog and collaborating with Volkswagen on battery health monitoring. He further honed his skills by pursuing a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, specialising in Biomechanics and Legged Robotics, at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Germany. At DeepDrive, he focuses on automating production lines, integrating industrial robotics, and managing logistics. Hussain values teamwork and continuous improvement. Outside of work, he enjoys table tennis and staying updated on high-performance computing trends.
