Thinking about the Stonewall Riots, I'm filled with gratitude for the brave protesters, especially Marsha P. Johnson and other trans women of color, whose courage in 1969 sparked the fight for LGBTQI+ rights. Their actions have shaped our lives until this day.🌈 But the journey isn't over, and we still face big challenges. LGBTQI+ communities are particularly at vulnerable to climate change. Check out this great article on [Why are LGBTQ+ people more at risk from climate change?] ⬇ ⬇ ⬇

We would like to recommend this Outrage + Optimism episode to everyone who wants to explore the intersection of #migration and #climate on #WorldRefugeeDay 🌎 Today, Christiana Figueres, Tom Rivett-Carnac, and Paul Dickinson explore how environmental factors are increasingly changing the fabric of societies around the world. With their guest Gaia Vince they discuss the ways we might manage this inevitable movement of people due to rapid climate change; why the right wing, anti-immigration narrative might resonate but is not rooted in the fact that migrants historically enrich societies, both culturally and financially, and how to implement long-term solutions rather than patch-ups. 🎧 Tune in here: https://lnkd.in/e4JuPfMN
