    What’s going on? Our Berlin office is completely empty! On July 4th, our team headed out for a canoeing trip on the Spree and visited the “Haus am Weinbergsweg” nursing home in Prenzlauer Berg. The reason? It was 7Mind Volunteering Day. Our employees had a choice: tackle local waterway waste or spend time with the elderly in the community, bowling and strengthening intergenerational bonds. This is all part of our ongoing commitment at 7Mind to making a positive impact in the community. Our dedication goes beyond Volunteering Day: charities and initiatives can access our content free of charge upon request. We also proudly support Tech4Girls*, Give Something Back to Berlin e.V. , and gemeinnützige CLIMB GmbH as our long-term non-profit partners, offering both financial backing and expertise.     Office Anxiety is a real thing – and we need to talk about it. After the pandemic many of us have started to work in a hybrid setting or even returned to the office completely. Especially for people dealing with mental health problems or chronic illnesses it can feel like a nightmare to leave their safe space for the whole day to work in often hectic environments. If you really, really need to go to the office, here’s how to make these days a little easier: 👉 Prepare: How many meetings will you have on your office day? Which colleagues will be around? Can you book a table in advance? Will you go for lunch or bring your own food? Knowing what to expect takes a little off the weight. 👉 Cut it down: 8-9 hours feel like forever? Cut your days down to smaller units to make it feel more manageable. There’s one hour for lunch, two hours for meetings, two more hours of focus work and some time for checking your inbox. You can even mark all of these slots in your calendar so you have a timetable to stick to. 👉 Plan in some alone time: Being around people all day is what stresses you out the most? Plan a little walk by yourself or get yourself a coffee in the neighbourhood. If sneaking out alone feels too awkward, try to get some space in your office: book a meeting booth for an hour or sit on that couch in the entrance hall where no one can look at your screen. Most important item to bring: your headphones! 👉 Be comfy: Wearing what suits you best but also feels comfortable can feel like a hug on an office day. The office tends to be way too cold? Bring an extra cardigan. It’s a hot summer day? Don’t forget your deodorant. Anything that makes you feel better on this day is your friend. Did you ever deal with office anxiety?     Are you incorporating mindfulness practices in your daily routine already? Here’s just some of the ways mindfulness can improve your day to day life: Scientists have been able to demonstrate improvements in selective and executive attention, especially among beginners. (1) There is reason to believe that regular mindfulness meditation for at least 14 days can reduce the phenomenon of “mind wandering”.     Can meditation and mindfulness be harmful? Let’s be honest: when thinking of mindfulness, a lot of people will come up with an image of someone sitting crossed legged, smiling serenely, very calm and at peace with one’s self. At 7Mind, we know that meditation and mindfulness is way more than that, and bringing science-based content to our users is something we are constantly working on. Only a couple of days back, a documentary about people facing negative psychological effects after practicing mindfulness and meditation has been published on a public German TV channel. Adverse effects of meditation / mindfulness and its limitations is something we do take very seriously. Meditation and other mindful exercises can be a valuable tool to deal with some of the challenges life throws at us - but it can never be a substitution for talking to a mental health professional.     Entspannte Kooperation: 7Mind und die „Weltwach Klangreise“   Wir freuen uns im Rahmen des Launches unseres neuen Podcasts „Weltwach Klangreise“ mit einer der größten (und unseres Erachtens besten) deutschen Meditationsapps zusammenzuarbeiten: 7Mind!   Die Zusammenarbeit umfasst u.a. die Produktion von zwei exklusiven, geführten Meditationsreisen für die App durch das Team hinter der „Weltwach Klangreise“, basierend auf Originalaufnahmen aus Costa Rica und Portugal. Darüber hinaus ist Erik Lorenz zu Gast in der aktuellen Folge des Podcasts von 7Mind und spricht über achtsames Reisen.
