This database covers more than 400,000 retirees from agencies and local government in New York state who received pensions in 2021. Pensions are calculated based on years of service and final average salary, which can include the final year or three years' base salary, overtime, holiday pay, non-compensatory overtime and longevity bonuses. For school districts, non-professional employees are included. Teachers and administrators use a different retirement system.
