Truth (cs_truth_cz) is a cut hostage rescue map from Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. While the map shares strong similarities with its bomb defusal counterpart, cs_truth_cz features hostages, rather than bombsites.

cs_truth_cz was created at some point when Ritual Entertainment was developing the early stages of Condition Zero. The hostage rescue scenario was probably inspired from the Deleted Scenes mission. In fact, it is likely that this map was manipulated into its current bomb defusal iteration. An explanation regarding the change in game mode is still unavailable. In the singleplayer Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes mission Truth in Chaos, the player is supposed to rescue a few hostages being held in the houses, which probably explains why this map was initially a hostage rescue map, but somehow morphed into a Bomb Defusal map. The author is still unknown, but the official bomb defusal version was created by Dan Haigh.
