Whenever your bananas are ripening faster than you can eat them, peel and freeze them to use later in smoothies like this one. You can make a richer drink by adding almond butter or peanut butter to the mix.

No, you don't need them if the banana is frozen. Makes it icier.

I used Kefir instead of milk and opted for a frozen banana instead of ice cubes -- worked an absolute treat!

This is our family’s favorite. I’m happy to be introducing my kids to turmeric. Maple syrup also works well if you, like I, can’t get cold honey to dissolve to your satisfaction.

so delicious and creamy. i used oat milk which is already kinda sweet, so the addition of the honey and vanilla probably wasn’t necessary, and next time i’ll omit. i didn’t have pepitas so i used cashews and i didn’t soak— just let all the nuts sit in a few tablespoons of hot water while i gathered the rest of the ingredients. i microwaved the oatmilk so it was warm— i prefer a warm drink in the morning. this was creamy, warm, and delicious.

I love this smoothie. Such a great way to get all those nutrition benefits of nuts and seeds and easy to prepare ahead and have on the go. I add a spoonful of wheat germ and use soy milk when I have it.

Delicious! Felt like dessert! Hadn’t soaked the sunflower and sesame seeds. A few seconds in hot water was enough - the rest I left to my Vitamix ! Wonderful smoothie - will try again!

Really good. Made without the nut butter. Delicious!

Delicious! Thank you

Yum!! Made with oat milk and a few drops of sesame oil in place of sesame seeds. Decadent and nutritious.

Outstanding! I’ve been making this all week. Two bananas and you almost have a meal

This is wonderful! Had it at breakfast and made it with soy milk which made it extra creamy. The nut butter flavour really comes through well and the grated nutmeg as garnish adds a great finish. I will be making this regularly!

Are the ice cubes still necessary if you are using a frozen banana?

Simply delicious!

Another delicious smoothie--thank you Martha! I used soy milk, thereby eliminating the cholesterol and keeping about the same amount of protein in the recipe. Of the non-dairy milks I'm familiar with, soy has the most protein--only a trace less than dairy milk. I'm embarrassed to say that I forgot to put in the almonds, so I ate them separately, and the smoothie was still good.
