I’m always tossing watermelon with fresh mint, so I decided to see how the two would blend in a smoothie. The result is like a cross between a sweet mint tea and a watermelon agua fresca.

This would be great with a shot of gin.

if you have good watermelon this need absolutely no sugar! also can sub basil for the mint and it's just as refreshing.

I like a squeeze of lime to this as well.

Just made this, super good. Next time, and there WILL be a next time (like tomorrow), I'll start with refrigerated watermelon. Oh, also, add a big squeeze of lime!!

Weighed the watermelon (makes for quick assembly next time & fewer dirty dishes), added lime juice as suggested, didn't add any sugar (good watermelon, wasn't necessary), went heavy on the mint & used a few ice cubes as indicated. Perfectly refreshing on this sultry summer day.
400 g/14 oz/2c watermelon
30 g/1 oz/2 T lime juice

If you add some lime juice and tequila you'll have a Watermelon Mint Margherita! Made some this past weekend. Excellent!

This is great with a bit of fresh ginger instead of mint. Also very good with some champagne for a watermelon belinii - lime slice on the side.

Freeze the diced watermelon and you don't need ice cubes - and add a squeeze of lime and some tequila.

I added 1 lime and i loved it even more!!

We've been making this with a few substitutions based on a recipe from our local grocery store: a hibiscus-cardamom simple syrup for the sugar, a half cup of orange juice, a quarter cup of lime juice, and a jalepeño pepper for a little kick. We freeze it after blending, just long enough to fill it with little ice chips.

As the store recipe notes, it's also excellent with tequila!

Lime juice and watermelon is the best! Mint or basil works

Bought a large watermelon that wasn't as flavorful as I expected. This is a wonderful way to enjoy it. I probably used 1/4 teaspoon sugar, lots of mint. Used the immersion blender. Love it.

I make this regularly during the hot summers. No need for simple syrup unless you like your drinks very sweet. I've made this with varying ratio of mint and basil - depending on what was fresh from the garden. You can also add in a splash of juice that you have on hand if you need to thin it out. Or add more ice to make it through a 100+ degree day.

Very nice. I added a bit of lavender oil to mine and it was nice

Made this with an orange watermelon, mint and gin. Topped it off with seltzer. Refreshing!

This is so good I would buy watermelon just to make this! I agree with the many who have urged the addition of lime juice along with the mint!

Add lime and ginger. Try with basil.

Agree with others: a good watermelon needs no additional sugar... AND... turning this into an adult beverage, with gin is sublime! My partner, an especially picky fellow, went back for seconds, a very rare event for him.

Also delicious with Basil instead of mint. I didn't have any mint, so substituted basil, and I think I liked it even better than the time before when I used mint. More intriguing flavor profile.

Even better if you half-freeze the watermelon chunks!

Mmm. Made this for a friend's birthday dinner cocktail w/prosecco. No added sugar since watermelon was really ripe. Added fresh ginger. Refreshing summer cooler.

Added some St Germain, more ice cubes to create more of a smoothy/icy texture and, very importantly, juice of 1/2 a lime and 1/2 a lemon. Without that it is too sweet. The acid brings out the flavor of the watermelon.

Omit the sugar

nice with a pinch of salt

While in Thailand, I loved that they 1/2 froze the watermelon - before serving and cut the ice cubes. Slushy - delicious

No sweetener. Just a dash of salt!
