File:World marriage-equality laws.svg

[edit]

Taiwan should be coloured in dark blue. Someone deleted dark blue colour and turned it in light blue colour. --88.70.219.5 12:44, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's just a formatting error. I'll try to fix. Kwamikagami (talk) 12:51, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
thank you very much. --88.70.213.66 13:47, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
FYI to page watchers, the code used for China was .cn, which is the UN-recognized China. The PRC is .cnx. That change fixed the error, and I've removed the hack for Taiwan. Kwamikagami (talk) 21:15, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

On 21 June 2024, the High Court of Namibia legalized same-sex activities. The colour of country Namibia in map must be changed to grey colour

The relevant map is File:World laws pertaining to homosexual relationships and expression.svg. Will fix. Kwamikagami (talk) 20:54, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You are a very annoying person

[edit]

Stop overwriting symbols in a radically "standardized" form which the original uploaders didn't envision, and probably don't want! At a minimum, it's a violation of COM:OVERWRITE. We went all over this in May 2022 with the gender symbols (see your talk page archive), and now you're choosing to commit recidivism. AnonMoos (talk) 22:43, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

On File:Triple Goddess Symbol Filled.svg, you didn't even preserve the basic shape! Do you put in considerable effort to be annoying, or do you find that it comes easily and naturally to you? AnonMoos (talk) 22:48, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Technical details

[edit]

Sorry / Not sorry for my initial reaction when discovering your overwrites, but in my Triple Goddess symbol files, the shape of the crescents was very carefully chosen to be a 120 degrees circular arc and a 180 degrees circular arc joined at their endpoints, which is also half of a vesica piscis shape inscribed within a circle, which also simulates the appearance of the moon when it is in sextile aspect (at an angular separation of 60 degrees from the sun), though obviously not using the inner ellipse shape which would be fully astronomically correct. Did you spend any length of time considering such details before doing your overwrites? Did you spend just one millisecond considering that this might even be a possibility, or did you just mechanically and robotically overwrite, overwrite, overwrite?

Also, the Triple Goddess images are obviously mostly lunar-based, but they are not themselves astronomical symbols (except incidentally or accidentally). They are cultural and quasi-religious symbols. If you wouldn't be so disrespectful as to overwrite a cross image used on various Wikipedia religion articles about Christianity with a rather different shape, because it happens to resemble a symbol for the minor planetoid Zolotoft, then please don't be so disrespectful as to overwrite an image used on various Wikipedia neopaganism / Goddess movement articles for a similar reason. My last comment (unless you condescend to reply)

[edit]

I would appreciate it as a personal favor if in future you were to refrain from overwriting images mainly by me. I didn't care about File:Venus symbol (green).svg, which is extremely simple and generic, but for more complicated images, based on past experiences, you are unlikely to understand or respect the choices that went into shaping the image details, and you are unlikely to be able to successfully balance Wikimedia Commons policy COM:OVERWRITE against other factors, and the whole experience will likely turn out to be unpleasant and annoying for both of us. Thank you... AnonMoos (talk) 19:14, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, I wasn't aware of the sextile aspect you mentioned.
Agreed. I apologize for the inconvenience I've caused you, and will try to remember this in the future.
Re. not replying above, I try not to reply to snarky comments, as I tend to be snarky in return, which doesn't achieve anything. Kwamikagami (talk) 19:25, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
File:Flag of the United Nations (1945-1947).svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Hello kwami!, what the font that u use for the georgia alphabet? Ichkaltiya (talk) 05:25, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think I've uploaded anything in Georgian, have I?
For print publication, I've been using Noto Serif Georgian Md. (I used to use something else, but I forget what.) Kwamikagami (talk) 05:44, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Ichkaltiya (talk) 09:52, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
