The Commission has imposed provisional countervailing duties on imports of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) from China. The anti-subsidy investigation showed that the BEV value chain in China benefits from unfair subsidisation, which is causing a threat of economic injury to producers in the EU.

President von der Leyen participated in the EU-Egypt Investment Conference in Cairo together with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on 29 June. The conference brought together over 1,000 business and government representatives to discuss business opportunities between the EU and Egypt.

The Commission announced the sixth investment package under the EU's Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans that is expected to mobilise €1.2 billion. It will support investments in water supply, wastewater treatment, rail transport, innovation and SME's green transformation.
