We were delighted to have our own Borja Fernandez Tamayo, PhD participate in the 7th Private Markets Research Conference 2024. Borja presented a forthcoming paper, “Decoding Private Equity Reporting using Artificial Intelligence”. Together with our colleague Natalia Sigrist, and academic institutions, SKEMA Business School, University of Oxford, and Technical University of Munich, this paper contributes to recent research into the use of Artificial Intelligence in Private Markets. Using a unique dataset of semi-annual deal-level quantitative and qualitative information, the team examined the potential of using machine learning algorithms and Large Language Models to predict fund- and deal-level performance over time. The results of the research suggest that LPs are able to “decode” private equity reporting and build accurate estimations of future performance.   Thank you to our hosts Université de Lausanne, EDHEC Business School, Tilburg University and Université Paris-Dauphine    To find out more about Borja and the team’s research, get in touch at clients@unigestion.com
