The Chamber successfully held its 39th annual general meeting at the Zunfthaus zur Waag in Zurich. The event took place as part of the 160th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Switzerland. SJCC President Martin Herb welcomed the numerous participants with a brief historical review. The Ambassador of Japan H.E. Yoshinori Fujiyama honored the Chamber with his participation and a welcoming speech. Guest speaker Christoph Mäder, Chairman of economomiesuisse, gave an impressive speech entitled: “Stronger cooperation is more necessary than ever!” SJCC President was delighted to present the guest speakers with the first bottles of the “Special Edition SJCC 2024” Swiss Alpine Whisky Säntis Malt with the logos of the 160th Anniversary and SJCC.

The SJCC was very honoured and delighted to welcome H.I.H. Princess Akiko of Mikasa for a presentation-conversation. Her excellent and interesting presentation highly impressed the guests. H.I.H. was welcomed by SJCC President Martin Herb, Government Councillor Carmen Walker Späh (Head of the Department for Economic Affairs, Canton Zurich), H.E. Yoshinori Fujiyama (Ambassador of Japan), and Prof. Dr. Roger Fayet (Director SIK-ISEA). Rafael von Matt (SRF) moderated the presentation-conversation. The reception was co-hosted by the Canton of Zurich and took place at the SIK-ISEA, Villa Bleuler, in Zurich.
