#Lebensmittelverschwendung ist ein bekanntes Problem. Weltweit landen jährlich rund 1,3 Milliarden Tonnen Lebensmittel im Müll, so die Ernährungs- und Landwirtschaftsorganisation der Vereinten Nationen (FAO). Das entspricht etwa einem Drittel der weltweit produzierten Nahrungsmittel. Diese Verschwendung hat erhebliche ökologische Auswirkungen, führt zu enormen wirtschaftlichen Verlusten und einer ineffizienten Nutzung unserer Ressourcen. In Krankenhäusern und Pflegeeinrichtungen wird oft eine erhebliche Menge an Lebensmitteln weggeworfen, was vermeidbare Kosten und unnötige Umweltbelastungen verursacht. Es reicht jedoch nicht, nur die Menge des Abfalls zu kennen. Erst wenn wir wissen, was genau im Müll landet, können wir das Warum verstehen und effektive Lösungen entwickeln. Durch unsere strategische Partnerschaft mit KITRO setzen wir auf eine innovative, KI-basierte Technologie, die uns genau diese Einblicke ermöglicht. Mit der genauen Identifikation und Analyse der weggeworfenen Lebensmittel sind wir in der Lage, Maßnahmen zur Reduzierung von #FoodWaste zu erarbeiten. Mögliche Lösungen sind angepasste Portionsgrößen, Ersatzprodukte oder neu kreierte Menüs. Weniger Essensreste bedeuten dann zugleich zufriedenere Patientinnen und Patienten.

The company culture is very relaxed while goal oriented, and the working hours are flexible. It is always possible to work around your schedule, there’s basically no “you have to be available then and then”, so it’s easy to balance between work and life obligations. After the first meeting - the company culture, the enthusiastic spirit, and familiar feeling sealed the deal for me.
