The IFRC is deeply saddened to confirm the deaths of two Sudanese Red Crescent Society volunteers, Babiker Fadl Al-Mawli on 5 July 2024, and Aldow Jaber Ali on 12 July 2024. The IFRC extends its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and SRCS colleagues of Babiker Fadl Al-Mawli and Aldow Jaber Ali. We reiterate our call for the protection of humanitarian workers and urge all parties to respect international humanitarian law. The loss of our staff and volunteers is a stark reminder of the dangers faced by humanitarian workers in conflict zones. https://bit.ly/4687Xtw

The decision to migrate is not an easy one. Many people find it very difficult to leave their lives and loved ones behind. This was the case for Diego, who did not want to leave without his dog, Luna. He carried her in his arms the whole way, from the moment he left his home until he arrived in Panama. Like him, more than 1,000 people cross the Darién jungle every day, risking their lives in the process. Panama Red Cross makes sure they are #NotAlone by providing them with water, basic health care, phone calls to their families and more.

After the conflict in Ukraine escalated, Liudmyla fled to Romania, where she and her daughters found safety. Since then, Liudmyla's been volunteering with Crucea Rosie Romana, helping fellow Ukrainians. This support is made possible thanks to EU Health and Food Safety.

More children were left without life-saving vaccines last year due to a rise in conflicts across the globe, according to UN estimates. In late April, the IFRC joined the #HumanlyPossible campaign together with UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to call on world leaders to step up and ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to vaccines, tests, and treatments. By investing in vaccines, we can help build a world where every child has a chance at a healthy future, regardless of the circumstances they face. #HumanlyPossible
