Duitse delegatie bezoekt Gunvor Energy Rotterdam in haven Rotterdam Werkbezoek in het teken van import en distributie van groene waterstof Rotterdam, 28 juni 2024 – Op donderdag 6 juni bracht een delegatie uit de Duitse deelstaat Baden-Württemberg een bezoek aan Gunvor Energy Rotterdam (‘Gunvor’) in de haven van de Rotterdam. De delegatie bestond uit vertegenwoordigers van de deelstaatregering, de transportsector en de industrie, en betrof onder andere mevrouw Elke Zimmer (Staatssecretaris, Ministerie van Transport), leden van het parlement, waaronder de heer Boris Weirauch (SPD) en de heer August Schuler (CDU), en de heer Uwe Köhn (directeur, Haven van Mannheim), en Robert Jan Reuvekamp (Air Products). Het bezoek, dat door Deltalinqs en Havenbedrijf Rotterdam werd gecoördineerd, stond in het teken van de ontwikkelingen en projecten op het gebied van de energietransitie, in het bijzonder de import en distributie van groene waterstof. In de Rotterdamse haven spelen bedrijven als Gunvor een sleutelrol waar het gaat om waterstofimport- en transport naar omliggende landen. Samenwerking tussen Nederland en Duitsland is belangrijk om de waterstofambities te realiseren en vraag en aanbod op elkaar af te stemmen. Voor optimale samenwerking moeten beide landen hun infrastructuur voor opslag en transport verder ontwikkelen en integreren. Tijdens dit bezoek werden de uitdagingen en mogelijkheden hiertoe besproken. De delegatie kreeg een uitgebreide presentatie over de projecten op het gebied van de productie van hernieuwbare energie en de manier waarop Gunvor verdere verduurzaming van haar activiteiten in de praktijk brengt. Met de ontwikkeling van een traditionele raffinaderij naar duurzaam energiebedrijf heeft Gunvor de ambitie om een belangrijke rol te spelen bij de energietransitie in de Rotterdamse haven. Onder leiding van General Manager Erwin Goosen transformeert het bedrijf de komende jaren ‘van grijs naar groen’. “Het was een eer om de staatssecretaris en delegatie te ontvangen en samen met onze partner Air Products te bespreken hoe wij als bedrijven een actieve rol spelen in de energietransitie. We blijven vastbesloten om oplossingen te ontwikkelen en zo bij te dragen aan een duurzame toekomst voor onze stakeholders, waaronder in Duitsland”, aldus Goosen. Een belangrijk onderdeel van het programma besloeg de hernieuwbare waterstof faciliteit van Air Products, die op het terrein van Gunvor wordt ontwikkeld. Deze locatie is strategisch gepositioneerd voor het ontvangen van hernieuwbare ammoniak uit zon- en windrijke gebieden, dat in Rotterdam kan worden gebruikt als feedstock voor hernieuwbare waterstofproductie. De geproduceerde hernieuwbare waterstof kan worden gebruikt voor de verduurzaming van industrie en mobiliteit in Nederland en aangrenzende landen. Het bezoek van de Duitse delegatie aan de Rotterdamse haven onderstreept dan ook het belang van internationale samenwerking voor een succesvolle energietransitie. #gunvorenergyrotterdam

Under the terms of the deal, Quercus will draw on its established track record of developing renewable projects—from permitting to “ready to build” status—and combine that with Gunvor’s ability to fund, manage, and optimize assets through power purchasing agreements (“PPAs”). The solar sites will be strategically located across all regions in Italy, granting Gunvor the option to acquire and enter into PPAs with the assets. #Raffinerie 🏭 und #Nachhaltigkeit 🌱 - wie passt das zusammen? Zukünftig ganz gut. Denn zunehmend beschäftigen sich Raffinerien mit der Umstellung auf biogene und synthetische Rohstoffe.   Davon konnten sich gestern unsere Kollegen Andreas Maier und Peter Stein vor Ort bei der Gunvor Raffinerie Ingolstadt GmbH überzeugen. Sie bekamen von der Leiterin Transformation Delia Stelzer einen Einblick in die komplexen Technologien am Standort und erfuhren, welche Schritte nötig sind, damit die Umstellung von fossil auf nachhaltig gelingt. Als Basis kommen dann statt Erdöl und Erdgas Biomasse, aber auch CO2-neutraler Wasserstoff sowie synthetische oder recycelte Rohstoffe zur Anwendung. Die technischen Herausforderungen sind dabei komplex.   Die Raffinerien sind elementar für die #Molekülwende und den Industriestandort Deutschland. Die Verfügbarkeit von nicht-fossilen Rohstoffen und Energieträgern zu wettbewerbsfähigen Preisen muss sichergestellt sein. Dafür braucht es verlässliche politische Rahmenbedingungen. Zum Beispiel über:   👉 Technologieoffenheit 👉 Unterstützung von Kreislaufwirtschaft 👉 Carbon Capture and Utilization (#CCU) 👉 Wasserstoffstrategie 👉 Biomassestrategie
