We just hosted a regional workshop on designing digital-first health systems at the IPSF - International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation African Pharmaceutical Symposium in Freetown, Sierra Leone, led by our Regional Youth Champion for Sub-Saharan Africa, Lydia Jummai Gara. 50 young pharmaceutical students from across Africa joined us, sharing their innovative ideas and visions for the future of digital health systems. They took on the roles of various stakeholders, exploring how to build these systems using a human rights-based approach. The findings from this workshop will be incorporated into our next steps in building the blueprint for digital-first health systems. A huge thank you to all the participants for their active engagement and to IPSF - International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation and IPSF African Regional Office (IPSF AfRO) for their warm welcome. We look forward to future discussions with more young leaders as we continue on this path toward building inclusive, innovative, and advanced digital health systems tailored to their needs!

Digital Transformations for Health Lab hat dies direkt geteilt
The image and online article captured it all. 🎯 No #UHC without leveraging digital technology 🎯 Digital technologies must be Simple, Scalable and Sustainable (3S) 🎯 interoperability standards are critical to aggregate fragmented and siloed innovations with data governance structures to enhance solidarity 🎯 The youth should have a seat at the health system design table. They are growing up in a digital world, fast adopters of mobile and digital technology yet often left out of the traditional healthcare system. Their ideas can help fasttrack #UHC 🎯 There should be a deliberate effort by Government and stakeholders to address the enablers of digital transformation including electricity, digital literacy, access to data and internet connectivity. 🎯 Collaboration is key! No need to reinvent the wheel but scale and extend innovations that work. I was extremely impressed with the Honorable Minister for State for Health Dr. Tunji Alausa plans to digitize the healthcare system for efficiency and transparency. Equally impressive was the presentation by the Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority of Ghana, Prof Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah who has successfully provided the backbone for the integration of all social services in Ghana around the Ghana Identity card, a system worth examining. The Honorable Commissioner of Health Lagos State Prof. Akin Abayomi presented the Lagos “SHIP” which has now commenced implementation to digitize and create a platform for the health system in Lagos State. A project with Interswitch Group eClat and a few other organizations. PharmAccess is proud to be a co-convener of the Africa Digital Health Summit (ADHS) with Niyi Osamiluyi and we are looking forward to implementing next steps to advance the health system and #UHC.
