✒ As a former athlete turned sustainability champion I was particularly honoured to preface this excellent Human Rights Playbook on Integrating Human Rights in the Governance of Sport Bodies developed by the Centre for Sport and Human Rights. 🏅 #Sport fascinates and unites us, and to continue doing so, the multi-billion sporting industry should address its impacts on people and the planet. The sport governing bodies, who make mega-sporting events possible, have a particular responsibility in this regard, towards athletes, workers, communities, fans, journalists, and many others. 🛠 This playbook will support sport governing bodies in living up to these expectations, in particular by helping them implement sustainability #duediligence as outlined in the OECD - OCDE standards on #responsiblebusinessconduct. 📣 I look forward to continuing the collaboration with the CSHR, and to the #Olympics this summer, in the OECD's home base of Paris!
