Purpose of Committee:
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Monthly Community Service Programs | The Community Service Committee plans AAP wide community service opportunities at least once a month through the academic year to ensure students to giving back to the communities thorughout NYC.
- World Changers Community Service | The Community Service Committee works in collaboration with the Bronx Pharos Academy and facilitates a mentor program between NYU undergraduate student mentors with 9th-12th grade high school students in the Bronx. The program meets on a bi-weekly basis - typically every other Friday from 2-5pm - with the mentors and mentees alternating locations, enabling the high school students to obtain a glimpse of what college life is like when they visit the NYU campus.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
- AAP Leadership Certificate | During the Spring, AAP hosts L.E.A.D a program for first-year students interested in becoming active student leaders at NYU. The program provides an environment with both academic and co-curricular components challenging students to think critically and insightfully about their leadership and the impact they want to make on campus.

Student Engagement
Purpose of Committee: The Student Engagement Committee plans both large- and small- scale events for AAP, including the Fall Leadership Retreat, the End of the Year Social and cultural programs throughout the year: aap-events@nyu.edu.
Golden Rose & K.I.N.G.S. are award ceremonies held in the spring and fall semester, respectively, to honor and celebrate the students within our community who have a positive and uplifting impact.
The End of the Year Social is a celebration of the year’s work and achievements. It provides an opportunity for students to be praised for their hard work as well as a general positive end to the school year. Seniors are also congratulated for their accomplishments and receive an AAP graduation stole.
Games Day (aap-games@nyu.edu) offers AAP members an opportunity to interact with one-another while participating in a social activity that solidifies their relationships. These activities include monthly games, training sessions and the arts. The purpose of the program is to build a community of AAP members where they have an outlet to enjoy being young people for a time while matriculating through college.
Public Relations
Purpose of Committee: The Public Relations Committee works together to display a positive image for our AAP community; including, Social Media / Graphic, AAP Weekly Newsletter, and the AAP Yearbook. In addition, they collaborate with student organizations to promote campus-wide programming.
