Senior Program Manager

Our Public sector client is currently looking for one Senior Program Manager to coordinate their role in the implementation of a large, complex health system application. There are many work streams and stakeholders that require coordination to meet the schedule and demand of the enterprise size implementation. The Senior Program Manager will report to the Director of Major Capital Construction with dotted line to the ED of Technology, ED of Programs and VP of Digital Services and will provide the required decision and project management support to ensure the project stays on time and on budget. This is a highly visible, busy, and challenging role that will be focused on supporting the coordination of a large, complex project..

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful Resource will undertake the subsequent tasks and responsibilities, which include but are

  • Overall planning, coordination and delivery of the eHealth scope for the implementation of a

large, complex health system application systems;

  • Develop dashboards and reporting analytics to show progress;
  • Oversee the procurement and financial tracking;
  • Provide communications to executives, partners, stakeholders and users throughout the project;
  • Manage the organization change associated with the project;
  • Prioritize critical project milestones and work amongst competing demands and priorities;
  • Ability to manage multiple complex, high priorities simultaneously;
  • Support an effective, proactive cross-functional project team that may consist of both

management & non-management individuals in an environment that encourages innovation,

teamwork, initiative and open communications; promotes and models the corporate values.

  • Recognize both personal and team success;
  • Maintain a high level of competency in project management related disciplines;
  • Lead project team members as required, in the successful project implementation, project

planning, project management, coordination, change management & transition, and

communications;

  • Manage program change and address program issues;
  • Organize, lead and document critical project meetings;
  • Facilitation of multiple stakeholders through planning and implementation to meet a desired

scope, budget and timeline;

  • Develop and manage project schedule, including high level milestone plan;
  • Overall procurement management and tracking;
  • Overall program coordination of IMIT scope;
  • Project planning including scope development and project scheduling;
  • IMIT budget development and management throughout project lifecycle;
  • Issue management, escalation and tracking;
  • Decision making support and tracking;
  • Assign priorities and identify the resources required to meet the needs of the program;
  • Prepare, monitor and communicate the approved project charter, schedule and budget;
  • Report and manage variances to project charter, budget and timeline immediately;
  • Provide regular program status reports;
  • Inform and advise Director of project delivery risk and mitigation strategies; and
  • Other tasks & responsibilities as assigned/required by the Director of Major Capital

Construction

The Ideal Candidate

  • Will possess 11-15 years of experience in project/program management within the information

technology or a healthcare field;

  • Will possess a degree in related field, such as engineering, computer science, or health

information management;

  • Will possess training in Project Management Institute (PMI) standards and guidelines with

eligibility PMP Certification and PgMP®;

  • Must possess advanced communication skills and be capable of translating complex technical

solutions into business focused language;

  • Has a proven track record of being flexible, effective utilization of time management and willing

to adapt to change in workload;

  • Possess previous experience in healthcare IT, and;
  • Possess previous major, enterprise wide software implementation project experience.
