Position Summary

The Supply Planning Manager is an influential position responsible for leading the BBU supply planning network. Their job is to anticipate and maintain production plans & stock levels to ensure the business runs smoothly. They monitor and adjust the supply plan for a given part of the BBU network, anticipate market changes, and provide financially feasible inventory levels. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering insight with a firm grounding in analytical thinking and planning for multiple resources. The candidate must also demonstrate strong collaboration and motivating capabilities to communicate clearly and present the team's overall charter and deliverables. The position requires a unique combination of strategic and tactical skills that will enable the successful candidate to significantly impact the company's transformation and sustained profitable growth.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Plans inventory to determine appropriate levels, taking corrective action when inventory position is long or short.
  • Schedule finished goods production or develop monthly purchase plans for assigned product group. Supply recommendations are based upon scheduling parameters and system settings that are developed and maintained to support sales goals, financial inventory targets and minimize the age of the product when shipped to a customer.
  • Hire, supervise, develop, and manage performance for Supply planning team and maintain a positive team environment
  • Coordinate activity that impacts BBU's ability to maintain constant and sufficient product supply, ensuring communication with Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and other internal customers.
  • Responsible for analysis of seasonal inventory builds by examining manufacturing capacity and understanding customer needs. Includes translation of yearly sales volume budget into manufacturing production volume budget.
  • Responsible for analysis on SKU rationalization by examining portfolios to make recommendations for the removal of items based on profitability, OCD sales and fill rate to the customer.
  • Improve S&OP process and model scenarios to understand the impact of supply and demand fluctuations.
  • Assists with new product launches to ensure product is viable from an inventory management perspective.
  • Responsible for portfolio service levels by analyzing root causes of shortages for future prevention.
  • Coordinates replenishment of finished goods inventory across both corporate and 3rd party distribution centers.
  • Proactively implement processes, platforms, and tools to improve operational effectiveness and inventory accuracy.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor our end-to-end supply chain performance
  • Effectively communicate and translate results to Leadership Teams. Enable BBU's management to make informed, data-based decisions by providing business analyses and analytical support, particularly in areas where data is difficult to access / unreliable and where a high level of analytical skill is required.

Skills/Proficiencies

  • System skills to manage supply planning tasks using planning applications, ERP, and data warehousing/ancillary systems (Oracle Cloud base Planning & ERP systems)
  • Strong project management and communication skills concentrated on data gathering and dissemination
  • APICS Certification; CPIM/CSCP
  • Detailed and result-orientated project management on several projects at the same time.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload

Education And Work History

  • 5-10 years of experience in Supply Planning —preferably in food manufacturing
  • Business or Operations experience, with solid quantitative skills
  • Supply Planning Manager must have a practical business background, including management principles in resource allocation, strategic planning, collaboration, production, and exposure to various replenishment models.
  • Supply Planning Manager must also have several years of experience working with other departments to identify and resolve system and procedural weaknesses.
  • Detailed knowledge of logistics and inventory management processes.
  • Experience with statistical analysis.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business required, or Mathematics required. Graduate degree preferred. With either degree, specialized studies in forecasting, modeling, data mining, and/or statistics are highly preferred.
