Role Summary: As a Safety Advisor (NCSO) for our client, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation of safety protocols for a high-voltage power installation and underground utility installation project. Your role will involve conducting safety audits, providing training, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety programs and procedures specific to high-voltage power and underground utility installations
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Provide safety training and guidance to employees and subcontractors, ensuring they understand and adhere to safety protocols
- Investigate and report on incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training, and compliance activities
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution
- Stay updated on the latest safety regulations and best practices in high-voltage and underground utility installations
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement among all project participants
- Certification as a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO)
- Proven experience in high-voltage power installation and underground utility installation
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction and utility projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate teams
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach to safety management
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects in urban environments
- Previous involvement in projects requiring meticulous coordination of high-voltage and underground utilities
- Familiarity with Indigenous employment initiatives and a commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive work environments
