Automotive production is not for the faint of heart. Being prepared and aligning the entire team on project goals, methodologies, and deliverables is critical to efficiently and successfully integrating complex automation systems, which, in our business, is vital to building strong customer relationships. Last month, two of our Austrian team members travelled to Pune, India, to meet with our Indian team and kick them off on a significant body-in-white automation project for a European automotive OEM. By leveraging the expertise of our Indian team, we are well-positioned to meet the high demand for engineering capacity, address the project’s stringent timeline, and meet our customers’ high standards. Valco Manufacturing Inc., a Valiant TMS company, has supplied fabricated structural components to Bridging North America (BNA), WDBA-APWD’s private-sector partner responsible for designing and building the Gordie Howe International Bridge project. Valco provided ten packages of collar tie assemblies and tower crane ties manufactured to BNA’s specifications to support tower construction on the Canadian and US sides of the bridge. Last month, our Austrian apprentices visited an automotive OEM plant in Bratislava, Slovakia, where Valiant TMS is actively integrating an automated production system. This visit provided them with an invaluable opportunity to experience a typical workday on-site, gain insights into our integrated systems, and observe the real-world applications of the engineering theories and concepts they studied in school. This hands-on experience offered a unique perspective that textbooks simply can’t deliver. 18 of our Austrian team members showed incredible willpower and team spirit last Friday, forming six teams to participate in the Company Triathlon at Pichlingersee in Linz, Austria, despite the hot weather. Each team consisted of three members who had to swim 250 meters, cycle 10.4 kilometres, and run 3 kilometres together. Coincidentally, one of our European team members, who’s currently in the US, completed the Chattanooga Triathlon in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a week prior. She completed all three disciplines (400 meters swimming, 20 kilometres cycling, and 5 kilometres running) on her own!   Congratulations to everyone on your outstanding achievements!   #triathlon #teambuilding #teamspirit #corporateevents #wellness
