At #FirstFlip tomorrow morning, our team will be wearing western shirts embroidered with original artwork entitled "Namoysistsi: Little Bee Bird Hummingbird", created by Piikani artist, Heather Crowshoe. This artwork was designed for the civic partners of #FirstFlip in "recognition of all they do to improve the lives of everyone they encounter. The impact of their work, influences the quality of people's lives in a positive way." We are proud to wear this beautiful symbol, thank you, Heather! See you all tomorrow morning for pancakes along Stephen Avenue, between 1st Street & Centre Street, July 4th from 7:30-10:30 am. Indigenous Tourism Alberta | Travel Alberta | Destination Canada

Today, Calgary Economic Development and Tourism Calgary shared the new visual identity and logo for Calgary's new civic brand #BlueSkyCity with the community. The visual identity was inspired by beadwork, which captures Calgary’s story as a place of confluence where peoples, lands, cultures, and ideas come together. The beadwork symbolizes the story of each individual Calgarian, and when these stories and individuals come together, the sum of their parts is greater than the whole. Tourism Calgary will begin to incorporate this into key aspects of our organization starting this week and is working on promotions and initiatives based on Blue Sky City which will begin this fall. Finally, a microsite has been created for Calgarians to learn about the brand and we invite your organization to start incorporating Blue Sky City into your work. https://lnkd.in/gxvHDiKh
