Feeling inspired by yet another fantastic international film gathering - this time at the Toronto International Film Festival. We were honoured to host the 2nd Global Audiovisual Archiving Conference in partnership with the Eye Filmmuseum and Archive/CounterArchive. 150 film archivists, scholars, curators, students and filmmakers from around the world joined us for three days to examine the issues affecting audiovisual heritage today. The aim of the conference was to broaden the knowledge and connections within the global archival community, leading to new insights into the material and cultural resonances of archival approaches to sound and moving image in different parts of the world. We were so pleased to welcome international colleagues and show them all that is great about TIFF Lightbox—our cinemas, our library, our technical presentation, and Varda, our new cafe bar. Big thanks to Giovanna Fossati, Janine Marchessault, Michael Zryd, Anne Gant and Antoine Damiens for their collaboration and partnership. And a HUGE thank you to the incomparable TIFF Technical and Events team who managed many moving parts of a hybrid conference with ease and grace.
