Following last month’s 2024 SaAMS Symposium attended by Thornhill Medical CTO Drew Miller and MOVES® SLC™ / MADM™ Product Manager Keqin Chen, MBA, P.Eng, MASc, we are delighted to announced that Thornhill Medical has formally joined the SaAMS Collaborative Community. Smart and Autonomous Medical Systems (SaAMS) describe medical systems in which smart applications connect to medical devices to deliver transformative patient-care solutions safely and efficiently. The SaAMS Collaborative Community is part of the MD PnP Program on Medical Device Interoperability & Cybersecurity research program at the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine, under the direction of Julian Goldman, MD, FASA. It brings together experts – manufacturers, clinicians, engineers, researchers, and government agencies – to address challenging medical technology needs and regulatory science issues. We are thrilled to continue our collaborations with this esteemed group, building on our record of productive connections in this sphere. As Keqin explained in a recent post from the Symposium, Thornhill Medical's MOVES® SLC™ was among the first medical devices used to demonstrate the remote control of ventilators, working with our project partner DocBox, Inc. and using interoperable data and live simulation of clinical scenarios as part of a NETCCN/TiDE program. We are excited to unlock the power of data and interoperability to transform patient care with the SaAMS community. We’re all still buzzing from our recent 20th Anniversary celebration, when the Thornhill Medical community gathered to mark two decades of medical technology innovation, entrepreneurial grit and phenomenal growth. Read our latest blog post to learn what happened when our team, members of our esteemed Military Advisory Council, our partners and dozens of our colleagues and allies across our broader network came together in celebration of past, present and future. Special guest, lung injury expert and founder of The Geneva Foundation’s AREVA Research Institute, Dr. Andriy Batchinsky MD shared his invaluable perspectives on the importance of far-forward critical care. And our friends from Maple Hope Foundation moved us all with their stories of how Ukrainian military personnel are using our tech to save lives on the battlefield; they gifted us with an extraordinary painting by an anesthesiologist in Zaphorezia whose canvas was a MOVES® SLC™ cartridge cannister. Together, they remind us of the human importance and imperative of our vision to “make the impossible a reality”. To those who were with us in person, thank you for celebrating with us. To those who were with us in spirit, we toasted you. Read all about it, and enjoy our photo gallery to relive the evening! https://lnkd.in/gwKNXxP8 Lesley Gouldie

Thornhill Medical reposted this
It was my pleasure to represent Thornhill Medical with our CTO Drew Miller as part of the 2024 SaAMS Symposium at Massachusetts General Brigham in Boston on June 5th & 6th. The MD PnP Program on Medical Device Interoperability & Cybersecurity has come a long way to form a collaborative community, with the vision directed by Julian Goldman, MD, FASA. It is now everyone's business to work together, share the responsibility, and face the challenges. Thornhill Medical's #MOVESSLC was among the first few medical devices that demonstrated the remote control of ventilators (through DocBox, Inc. ) with interoperable data and live simulation of clinical scenarios at the MD PnP lab, during the participation of NETCCN/TiDE program. Looking forward to continuing the collaboration in this domain with all the great minds. Fubin Wu, Steven D., Lloyd Williams, Stephane Bibian, Braga Aroulmozhi, Chip Block, Yi Zhang, Michael B.
