Summer Motto: Safety First, Suntan Second. It's that time of year again when the sun is shining, the BBQs are sizzling, and the temperatures are soaring! While we all love a good summer tan, let’s make sure we’re keeping it cool and safe on the job. Here are some HOT (pun intended) summer safety tips: 1. Hydrate Up - Think of water as your new best friend. Your goal: drink more water than a cactus in a desert. 2. Dress to Impress (the Safety Inspector) - Swap the heavy gear for lightweight, breathable PPE. No one needs to feel like they’re wrapped in aluminum foil under the sun. 3. Sunblock Party - SPF is your BFF. Slather on that sunscreen, wear UV-protective clothing and sunglasses, and take breaks in the shade whenever possible. 4. Know Your Heat Illnesses - If you start feeling like a melting popsicle, it’s time to take a break. Signs of heat exhaustion include headaches, dizziness, excessive sweating, and exhaustion. 5. Hot Stuff, Cool Tools - Metal tools + summer sun = potential branding iron. Use proper hand protection when handling metal tools and equipment that may become hot. 6. Bug Off - The summer bug squad is out in full force. Use insect repellent and check for ticks after working in wooded or grassy areas. Let’s keep our cool and have a fantastic, safe summer! #SummerSafety #PipelineSafety #WorkplaceSafety

We are thrilled to announce that with our 55th-anniversary celebration, Surerus Pipeline Inc. donated $5,000 each to the Child Development Centre (CDC) in Fort St. John and the Fort St. John Public Library (FSJPL).   In lieu of gifts, we encouraged our guests to support our local library and the Child Development Centre. FSJPL offers an array of physical and digital resources, as well as engaging programs and events for children and the community. The CDC provides vital therapies, programs, and services to children with unique needs and abilities, along with essential support for their families.   We are proud to support these incredible organizations that make a significant difference in our community. Here's to many more years of growth, success, and giving back!    #Surerus55 #CommunitySupport #FortStJohn #GivingBack #ChildDevelopmentCentre #PublicLibrary

Dads excel at so many things, from mastering the grill to changing a tire and offering sage life advice. But let's not forget their unique sense of humour, perfectly showcased in dad jokes. While we might pretend to be annoyed by these corny quips, we secretly love them. In honour of all the joke-telling dads out there, here are a few classics sure to make you groan and giggle. We’re thankful for all the hardworking fathers in the Surerus family and beyond. Your dedication, love, and humor brighten our days. Here’s to the dads who keep things flowing. Happy Father’s Day! #HappyFathersDay #DadJokes #SurerusPipeline

Celebrating 55 Years of Surerus Pipeline Inc.: A Journey of Vision, Growth, and Innovation. Join us as we take a look back at our incredible accomplishments. 1969-1994: The First 25 Years From humble beginnings in Roseneath, Ontario, to moving West at 17, Brian Surerus quickly realized his ambition to be his own boss. In 1969, he founded Groundhog Enterprises by trading in his Ford pickup truck for a dump truck and eventually purchasing his first Drott excavator. Starting with a project just outside Fort St. John, Brian rapidly expanded his operations across British Columbia and Alberta. By the end of the first 25 years, Surerus had established a strong reputation in the Northeastern region. 1994-2019: The Golden Jubilee As Surerus grew, so did its fleet, staff, and project scope. In 2008, the company opened a shop and equipment yard in Gibbons, AB. In 2011, Surerus undertook its first big-inch pipeline near Fort Nelson with 25kms of 42” pipeline, a ground-breaking achievement for a small contractor. In 2014, Surerus formed a joint venture with J. Murphy & Sons from London, England, creating the Surerus Murphy Joint Venture, which has completed some of the largest projects in Canadian history. 2019-2024: The Most Transformative Five Years In the past five years, Surerus has experienced unprecedented growth and success. We completed two historic Canadian pipelines (Coastal Gas Link and Trans Mountain Expansion Project), established a new state-of-the-art office and shop in Fort St John, and made two new company investments in SureLine Projects in Fort St. John, BC, and WHC Energy Services in Lafayette, Louisiana. Brian’s collection of yellow iron equipment has grown substantially, with over 400 pieces acquired in the last five years alone, bringing the total to over 1,700 pieces of construction equipment, vehicles, trailers, and support equipment. Here’s to 55 years of Surerus and many more years of success and innovation ahead! #Anniversary #55Years #BusinessMilestone #Leadership #CanadianBusiness #SurerusHistory #MilestoneMoments #GrowthAndInnovation #PipelineProjects
