At Sprout Family, our core mission is to educate and empower. In a world where reproductive health education falls short, we see a massive opportunity to fundamentally change the way in which individuals access care. Check out our origin story: https://lnkd.in/g999EziH
One year ago, Suzanne and I set out on a mission to address the lack of accessible family-building support that Canadian's desperately need. This problem is deeply personal to me and my family. I hope our story encourages more open conversations about the different pathways to parenthood and how we can better support each other along the way. Thankful for my incredible family and the journey that got us here. ❤️ https://lnkd.in/g3t7Mc7P

Employer-provided healthcare coverage often fails to address fundamental aspects of family planning, such as fertility treatments and related health issues. Fertility, a foundational part for many, remains inadequately covered, leaving a significant gap in accessible family-planning resources. While some employers offer support for infertility treatments like IVF and egg freezing, many individuals lack access to these vital services. It's important to recognize that comprehensive fertility coverage extends beyond facilitating pregnancy; it also addresses health concerns such as PCOS, irregular menstruation, and diabetes. Thus, bridging this coverage gap is crucial for promoting both family-building and overall health. Our friends Sprout Family are trying to change Canadian fertility benefits for the better. Check them out to learn more. #TRIOfertility #fertility #DEI #inclusivebenefits

We’re heading into a Canadian fertility crisis… And it’s not just a women’s problem.

Personal story sharing... In 2017, at 23, I lost my period. It seemed trivial then, even a bit of a relief from painful monthly period cramps. In 2019, the realization hit - what if this affected my future fertility? I decided to seek answers and encountered an extremely frustrating system. At 25, my concerns were dismissed. Doctors told me it wasn’t worth further investigation until I was actively trying to build a family and received an infertility diagnosis. I was perplexed and confused why I couldn't get answers that I needed to be proactive about my reproductive heath and even more concerned that I would end up in a "crisis” situation when I was ready to start my family. This was the moment I started advocating for myself and my reproductive health. We started Sprout Family to provide resources to those that need support along an emotionally, financially and physically exhausting journey. My story isn’t unique, many share similar struggles. We believe in proactive reproductive health, empowering individuals to understand their bodies and seek support when they need it. Everyone deserves a chance at parenthood. Sprout Family is on a mission to make that happen 🌱 ❤️

T-1 sleep to the inaugural Rethinking Disabilities in Toronto. I have run many events during my career and when I look back at each of them, I am certainly proud of what they each accomplished. However, this one tomorrow is unique and special. As someone who was born with a severe hearing disability and developed a speech impediment, this topic of boosting workplace diversity, equity and inclusion for people with disabilities is personal to me. I am extremely grateful to our amazing group of speakers (in no particular order) - Kate Kalcevich, Eyra Abraham, Sydney Elaine Butler, Erin Patchell, Marlies Farrill, Maayan Ziv, Amber Authier, and the event emcee, Amy Davies. Thank you. And, thank you to our generous sponsors, Lighthouse Labs, TAP Network, First30, Oomple, Jobber, Level Scoop, AccessNow, HearU, and Sprout Family. Tickets are still available until later today and if you can join us at Amsterdam Brewery in Leaside, please reserve your spot at https://bit.ly/3PU2IGg. We look forward to seeing you all at 12pm ET tomorrow! #disabilities #diversity #inclusion #equity #accessibility #hr
