Metro Vancouver is proud to work with Planetary Technologies, Ocean Networks Canada, and The University of British Columbia on a trial of ocean alkalinity enhancement in Burrard Inlet. This project involves a system that removes acidic CO2 from the ocean and helps restore the ocean's natural ability to absorb CO2 from the air. It will be located at Metro Vancouver’s Lions Gate Wastewater Treatment Plant. We are grateful for the BC Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy for providing $1.9 million in funding for this project.
