One of the best questions I've asked our team is: "What does Ledn need to look like a year from now for you to want to be here?" 1. It combines both company goals and individual career development goals. Everyone wants to grow as an individual, but equally, everyone wants to be part of a winning team. 2. It reminds everyone that the team around them has options. If we don't act in sync as a high performance team, the top players will leave for better opportunities. Perform in your role, or watch others you rely on bounce. 3. It helps to align company goals with individual goals. If the company needs to be at X milestone for me to be want to be here, can I help get us there? Am I am excited about the work that needs to get done? Curious? Try it out! You don't need to be CEO to ask your colleagues this question. I promise it will start a great conversation!
