Practical and safe triage solutions for a sustainable veterinary industry

About us

Animal HealthLink (AHL) provides remote triage, aka "TeleTriage" services for veterinary practices. Our expert team of RVTs has an average of 15 years of experience. We act as an extension of veterinary practices and provide professional, competent, and compassionate service to veterinary clients. AHL TeleTriage service is designed by and for veterinary professionals to integrate with primary care, emergency, and referral facilities. AHL helps on-call practices by a 75% reduction in after-hours phone calls. We also provide appropriate advice and reassurance to those clients during those stressful calls. We work hard to ensure veterinary teams are well-rested and set up for success for the true emergencies and are the best version of themselves during the day. Our ER hospital services allow hospital staff to focus on the critical patient in front of them. Blending TeleTriage and in-person care revolutionizes ER workflow and redeploys critical staff to improve patient care and hospital efficiency. Integration of TeleTriage into ER workflows results in staff retention, improved hospital profitability, and most importantly - patient care. We created AHL with the vision to improve the lives of veterinary professionals and the patients they serve. Our mission is to give veterinary professionals the ability to focus on what they do best: taking care of the patient.

***Correction*** Our hearts go out to all the people, animals, and communities who are affected by the wildfire situation in Alberta. We know this is an uncertain and scary time. Thanks to the generous funding by Veterinarians without Borders North America, an emergency wildfire support triage line was established in partnership with Animal HealthLink and Peace River Veterinary Services (Mosaic Veterinary Partners Group) in case any animals belonging to evacuees experience a medical concern or emergency. Please note, this line is to support those that have been displaced by Alberta wildfires only. The line will have recording of the most up-to-date evacuation information as per https://lnkd.in/gE9vWseM. It will run 24/7 and Animal HealthLink's team of Registered Veterinary Technologists will be available to triage animal concerns and make recommendations for care. ***If you are an evacuee and you'd like to have access to this service, we ask that you email emergency@vwb.org to learn about the line.*** Wishing the best to those affected and we know the communities will rally together to support and rebuild.

Chief Executive Officer at Animal HealthLink

It has been a BUSY month for Animal HealthLink so I have not posted in a while. Here's what we've been up to: 1. We were so proud to sponsor our very own Alana Pay 's fantastic exotics animal lectures at the Alberta Veterinary Technologist Association's 45th Anniversary conference 2. Animal HealthLink has a very unique work environment and with that comes unique challenges that our staff face every day. We learned so much at the Promoting Mental Health and Effective Communication in the Veterinary Workplace program thanks to Jillian Carr BFA, CHS at Steady Gait Planning, Marie Holowaychuk, DVM, DACVECC, CYT and Shea Westcott. Most importantly we walked away with so many great skills that we were able to put into practice immediately. 3. We were delighted to sponsor the Putts for Pets Golf tournament in Peace Country, Alberta. It brought together veterinary practices from the entire Peace Country and Northern BC! 4. Speaking of bringing together the veterinary industry, the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association's 2024 Convention did just that! We were proud to host a Western-themed Mega booth that brought together 4 companies, each independent, but all working towards a common goal of supporting veterinary professionals. Jillian Carr BFA, CHS , Mosaic Veterinary Partners and MNP it was a blast! 5. The CVMA Convention fun did not end in the exhibit hall! Together with Jillian Carr BFA, CHS , Mosaic Veterinary Partners and MNP , we hosted a phenomenal client and staff event featuring the amazing Supersonic Hearts Band, great venue, and plenty of friends and fun! 6. And finally, I had a great time lecturing to Olds College of Agriculture & Technology students about the pivotal role RVTs play in Telehealth and how Animal HealthLink RVTs are changing the veterinary industry for the better! I also got to tour the brand new Animal Health building which did not disappoint! #vetmed #vettech #rvt #telehealth #teletriage #ahl #animalhealthlink #vetmedlife #entrepreneur

Last week, we had a blast at the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association's 76th annual convention in Calgary. In true Calgary fashion, we saw an opportunity to make our booth an all-out western experience, while bringing four unique veterinary businesses together to lift each other up in service of the broader veterinary community. Thank you to our amazing partners, MNP, Mosaic Veterinary Partners, and Steady Gait Planning (Jillian Carr BFA, CHS), for working with us! We are Stronger Together, and our mega-booth was a big hit! We had so much fun connecting with the veterinary community, dressing in our western best, and taking lots of fun photos. A big thank you to Haus of Posh for handling the booth furniture and decor. We truly appreciated your hard work to help make our mega-booth vision come to life. If anyone is doing events in the Calgary area, keep them in mind! Thank you as well to the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association for throwing another wonderful event.

Only 8 more days until the 45th Anniversary Conference - Embracing the Journey: Honoring our Past, Shaping our Future, with ABVTA! We are proud to be sponsoring two sessions, both being delivered on Sunday, May 26, by one of our very own Operations Managers, Alana! Following her graduation from Olds College, Alana has immersed herself in the ever-changing world of emergency medicine, with a special interest in anything relating to exotic animal husbandry education. Her journey has led her through 7 years of ER work, a zookeeping internship in Nebraska, animal care opportunities with the Calgary Zoo, research work at the University of Alberta and most recently, her certification as a Master Herpetologist. If you are attending ABVTA this year, and you're interested in exotic animal care, you won't want to miss this.

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 Animal HealthLink is thrilled to announce our partnership with Veterinarians without Borders North America/Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Amerique du Nord (VWB/VSF). Generously funded by PetSmart Charities of Canada, VWB is launching a pilot veterinary telehealth program serving the communities of Gjoa Haven, Tuktoyaktuk, and Kugluktuk in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. In regions where veterinary care is few and far between, our teletriage service emerges as a beacon of hope. With no veterinary practices in vast areas like Nunavut, pet guardians have faced significant challenges in accessing care for their beloved animals. Often, it requires expensive and logistically challenging travel. This program is set to change this narrative. By providing 24/7 access to registered veterinary technologists (RVTs), phone operators will work with incoming callers to address their concerns and provide immediate advice and care for pet guardians to implement. This partnership marks a significant milestone in our commitment to ensure every animal, no matter where they live, receives the care they need. Together, we're paving the way for healthier, happier animal communities in Northern Canada. Let's celebrate this leap forward in making veterinary care more accessible for all. Here's to healthier animals, informed pet guardians, and stronger communities! 🎉 To read the full press release, click here: https://lnkd.in/gYfv3DHc #VeterinaryCare #Telehealth #AnimalHealthLink #Partnership #NorthernCanada
