Paul Pepper, Superintendent of our Detour Lake mine in Ontario, is excited to see a new piece of equipment that will soon be in production on site! To the best of our knowledge, the Komatsu Mining XPC4100 electric rope shovel will be the first one in use in the Ontario mining sector.

Agnico Eagle’s reconciliation journey began in Canada and has since expanded globally, with many of our operations and offices located on the traditional territories of various Indigenous Peoples. Today, we are especially proud to announce the release of our inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) – and to the best of our knowledge, the first one published by a Canadian mining company - which reinforces our commitment to reconciliation with Indigenous communities. Our RAP is more than just a document. Comprised of 40 distinct actions grouped under seven pillars, it represents a collaborative effort with Indigenous communities. Through consultations with over 250 employees, stakeholders, and rights holders, we have developed a comprehensive strategy with the goal to complement and strengthen ongoing programs and initiatives that contribute to the economic, social, and emotional well-being of Indigenous Peoples. You can read or download the first edition of our RAP by following this link: https://bit.ly/4ctDJ6X
