    The Perfect Bomb

Written by (AFOL) in United Kingdom,

Set #75347 TIE Bomber is a beautiful Lego set and recreates the ship perfectly at this scale.

What impresses me most about the TIE Bomber are the details, such as the large bezel around the cockpit window and printed parts instead of stickers to showcase even more details.

The set comes with 4 impressive Minifigs, including a cart which can hold 2 additional bombs. Talking of, this set has 2 firing mechanisms. a stud shooter front and centre and then a bomb dropping function hidden in its right side - carrying 4 bombs which you can press down to drop easily. Both work great! Back to the Minifigs, this set comes with a nicely detailed Darth Vader, Vice Admiral Sloane, a TIE Pilot and a Gonk Droid.

This was a lot of fun to build, even with the repetitive nature of the wings/solar panels of the TIE. The final result is fantastic and I highly recommend picking this set up to add to your collection of Empire builds.

    Return of the TIE Bomber

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in United States,

I got this set from Target a month ago. I have always wanted an imperial TIE bomber to strengthen my Imperial Navy forces.

    Minifigures

Darth Vader; Darth Vader is your typical Vader except for a new scowling expression opposed to his more prominent return of the jedi head. His torso has printed arms. His typical cape helmet and legs. He carries his titular lightsaber.

TIE Fighter Pilot; The pilot is the typical TIE fighter pilot.he carries a blaster pistol.

Vice Admiral Sloan; This character is an unusual choice in my mind for this set considering the fact she never appears in any Star Wars films. She has a typical head with a black bun. Imperial admiral uniform. She carries a blaster pistol.

Gonk Droid; a rather unusual droid build. Using an imperial crate for the droids body, along with several other pieces.

    Build

The build is typical modern TIE fighter construction. There is only room for the pilot in the ship. The firing mechanism is rather basic though. Then you build a rather simple small missile transport speeder.

    Overall;

This is an enjoyable set, great for flying around, and the bomb dropping function is surprisingly enjoyable. This set showcases the advancement in LEGO building technics in the last twenty years. I definitely recommend getting this set if you're interested in adding a tie bomber to your lego collection.

    Small Tie Bomber

Written by (AFOL , bronze-rated reviewer) in Poland,

New Tie Bomber is consistent with other new smaller scale models.

It is pretty straightforward build - angled plates and curved slopes for main body, many plates for the wings. With the wings you basically build angled part 4 times. The set is small so it is acceptable. Interestingly there is no technic beam going through the whole body. Instead, the build includes plates to create rigidity and it works well. The wing connection uses the same part as 75300 Tie Fighter. The inside contains a lot of empty space.
The complete model looks quite nice, the detail is there. The scale just seems two small, even compared with 75300 Tie Fighter. Tie Bomber is dwarfed by Tie interceptor 75240.

There are two stud shooters, 4 bombs to drop and an openable cockpit. The bombs are made of flick-fire missiles are hard to reach, don't drop easily - its bad. The pilot barely fits inside, and the cockpit is just two printed tiles, no place for his pistol. It is so tight that he can't even get in with a pistol. You can't see inside the cockpit, which is disappointing given that 75300 Tie Fighter had the option.
On top of that the set is hard to grip to swoosh around.

    Mini figures

There are four mini figures if you cont Gonk droid. So only 3 real ones. Darth Vader is great, Vice Admiral Sloan is just a random Imperial officer to most and the pilot is just a regular pilot.

It is an OK set. There is nothing spectacular about it other than there wasn't a Tie Bomber in 20 years. It looks fine. The price seems high though it is consistent with 7300 being 400 parts for $40 and this being 600 pieces for $60 + $5 inflation. It just takes a lot of bricks to build those round ships as it was with Tie striker 75154, which drives the price up. I would very much have it in bigger scale, but it won't happen.
So in the end - fine model, but not a must-have

First TIE Bomber in 20 years now in Gray!

Written by (TFOL , rhodium-rated reviewer) in United States,

The first TIE Bomber in 20 years now comes in gray. The last time they made this set it was blue and black however it roughly about the same size as this model here which is very cool. The bomb feature is not great and is yellow instead of blue like it is in the movie. The cockpit cannot be seen into which is a bummer and there is no massive missile like the last time they made this set. The darth vader figure is great and has arm printing and the tie pilot is good too. Rae Salone is a cool figure to get however I wish it was the white outfit instead of the grey one. The GONK droid is very good and has a useful box piece with the imperial logo on it. The look of the set is very good. The box art has a 30th anniversary of Return of the Jedi on it however this set was not seen in that movie and only appeared in episode V the Empire Strikes Back.
