Twenty Five Years for the Opening Scene!

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in United States,

Probably one of the most iconic scenes in cinema history and it's taken LEGO twenty-five years to finally make this set.

    Minifigures

Darth Vader: A nice figure, this Darth Vader is an excellent minifigure with arm, leg and back prints. This figure is as impressive as the dark lord himself. He is equipped with his red-bladed lightsaber.

Stormtroopers: two typical stormtroopers are included here. The only real change is that their hips are white now instead of black. They both carry blasters.

Rebel Fleet Troopers: these figures are the same design as the one included in the Yavin Rebel Base set last year. They both carry chrome silver blasters.

Captains Antilles: this figure is a slight update from the one that last appeared five years ago. He carries a silver gun as well.

ARC Trooper Fives: this is a LEGO figure I personally believed that LEGO would never make, but here it is. This is a pretty good figure with excellent detail and printing. The only cons I have is that the print on his helmet looks kind of wonky, and he should have had a cloth waist cape.

    The Build:

The build is pretty straightforward with a slight bit of technic mixed in.

    Overall:

This set is an excellent set and the inclusion of ARC Trooper Fives and just the iconic scene is great. The play features work wonderfully and is great to play with. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this set.

The one set to rule them all!

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in United States,

I got this set from Lego.com when it was released at the beginning of the month.
    minifigures:

Sauron; this minifigure is amazing. It would be nice if he had longer legs. The shoulder helmet is an amazingly moulded element.

Frodo Baggins; this is a nice minifigure. It is the same one that was released last year. The specially moulded helmet is amazingly detailed.
Samwise Gamgee; the same thing I said about Frodo baggins applies to Sam.

Mouth of Sauron; a nice update from the one from 2012.

Gothmog: an excellently designed minifigure his printing is exceptional.

Orcs; these four orcs are excellent minifigures. These parts are great for army building except for the fact that they come in such an expensive set.

    The Build:

The building is excellent and extremely enjoyable. It did take me three days to build it, but the process was extremely enjoyable. It does use a lot of black pieces. The counter shading is very cool in this set. Putting the Eye of Sauron on top of the tower is great.

    Overview:

This is an amazing set. It towers over the rest of my sets and looks amazing next to my Lion Knight's Castle. The light up function is exceptional and looks amazing once you light it up. I would definitely recommend getting this set.

The Set I Never Thought Lego Would Make

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in United States,

I always wanted to get a LEGO Venator, ever since the first Star Wars visual dictionary in 2009 had a picture of a LEGO MOC on one of the final pages of the book. I distinctly remember the disappointment when I realized it wasn't an actual official Lego set and never thought I would ever see LEGO make one. So when they finally announced that they were making a Lego version, I immediately new I had to have it.

The box art on this set was amazing. The building was one of the most complex and part intensive LEGO set I have ever done. The finished product is amazing and massive. It's definitely going to be a problem where I'm going to display it. The engines on the back of the ship are beautiful and make excellent use of power miner wheels.

The minifigures Admiral Yularen are excellent. He has a perfect expression on his dual printed head and great hair. His torso is accurate to the show and his dual moulded legs are a great little touch.

Captain Rex is a very controversial figure. I didn't buy this set for Rex. I bought it for the ship Rex was an extra bonus. His helmet looks good and is technically accurate to the live action Asoka show, though not the clone wars show he's supposed to be based on. The same can be said about his torso. The legs are what we have come to expect from LEGO these days. Armor printing with a printed waist cape.

Overall, an amazing lego set. A massive ship and definitely a must-have for a Clone Wars fan. LEGO really should have given Rex a waist cape. If you don't like Rex with helmet holes, then this just isn't the set for you, I guess. I would highly recommend this set.

Spider Tank! Spider Tank! Does Whatever a Spider Tank Does

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in United States,

I got this set at my local Walmart. Knowing that it hadn't been released by LEGO I had to pick it up.
    Minifigures

The Mandolorian: The same minifigure you probably have a zillion of by this time. The only interesting thing is that he has the new helmet mold and is carrying a new dark saber design. Along with his blaster.

Grogru: the same microfigure you get in every single mandalorian set.

Bo-Katan: the real draw of the set. This is an outstanding minifigure. I really like the new light blueprint on her armour. Her helmet is accurately printed with even scuffs around the visor. Her torso and leg printing is excellent. She also has amazing arm prints with accurate night owl symbols. She has a new specially moulded hairpiece and a double-sided head with an angry and happy expressions. With her headband moulded on both sides. She carries two automatic pistols.

    The Build

The spider tanks is an excellent set that looks exactly like the source material. The only thing missing is the cyborg driver from the show. It has hidden stud shooters and a cockpit. Semi articulate claws and legs that are a lot of fun to move around. The set just looks amazing.

    Overall

This is an excellent LEGO set. I would definitely recommend this set. The only downside is there is no pilot to drive the tank. But any ruffian styled minifigure would do.

    Spider-tank! Spider-tank!

    Does whatever a Spider-tank can

Snaps a claw, climbs a wall

Look out here comes the Spider-tank!

    The Most Dino-mite Minifigure!

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in United States,

As soon as I saw images of this series I knew I had to have this little guy. I went to my local Walmart for several months looking for the minifigures and finally found them. I quickly found this guy thanks to his tailpiece.

He looks amazing from his Dino style hat down to the claws printed on his feet a really stellar minifigure. Looks great riding on top of the Tyrannosaurus from 2015 Jurassic World theme. Overall another great minifigure. Only complaints are that he has no accessories and the price for minifigures seems kind of high now especially when you get one like him with no accessories and more simplistic designs printed on them.
