    Great Set

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in United States,

I wouldn't think i'd be too found of the mini-sets but i love this one. It was very easy to put together. And despite being a mini, it very much resembles a tie-fighter. The parts that come with this set make sure that it's very well assembled. You can pick it up with out worrying about the solar panels falling off.

    Good Tie Fighter

Written by (TFOL , rhodium-rated reviewer) in United States,

    Box/Instructions:

This comes in the normal polybag bag and has a the normal size instruction manual.

    Parts:

There aren't any cool or unique parts in this set. The total piece count for the set is 42.

    The Build:

The build was pretty easy. It took me under two minutes to build. The method used to attach the wings to the main part of ship was really cool idea.

    Complete Model:

Once I finished it, it was really nice. It was bigger and wider than I thought it would be for a polybag. It is really sturdy and resembles the ones from the Solo movie.

    Overall Opinion:

Overall this is a nice little Tie Fighter. It is bigger and wider than I thought. The technique used on attaching the wings was also really nice as well. Overall I'm giving it a 5 star rating

    The Empire Returns for Solo

Written by (AFOL , rhodium-rated reviewer) in Canada,

Set #30381 Imperial TIE Fighter: This is not the first time we’ve seen a small model in a Polybag based on the iconic TIE fighter vehicle from the Galactic Empire. This version is meant to represent the Solo movie as the packaging is definitely geared towards solo, while the model itself hasn’t changed much. Aside from parts use things are fairly similar to past versions of this model.

    Pros:

    • Quick and fun model representing the TIE fighter in a very solid design which is great for play or display.
    • Very good use of parts with large donut elements and 1x3 plates used for solid wing construction.

    Cons:

    • No printed elements, not even Imperial symbols for the wings.
    • Was extremely difficult to find in Canada, only appearing at Wal-Mart Canada in small numbers from what I observed, your area may vary.

    Overall opinion

This is a solid looking model which uses some great parts to implement the design accurately and at a decent scale for army building collectors who enjoy little displays of many ships. I feel that the lack of printed detailing hinders the model slightly as there are no markings for the Galactic Empire and the cockpit is just a plain large transparent dish instead of the window print seen on older models in a micro scale.

I would still recommend picking this Polybag up despite the minor complaints as the model itself is as I said solid and uses some very nice build designs for it. At least they didn’t include any stickers for detailing. Overall highly recommended.
