One of my favorite sets in my collection

Written by (TFOL) in United States,

This is my favourite set that I own. I remember receiving this for my birthday when I was a kid. I spent all night building it and touched nothing else for the next 2 months. It is very nostalgic for me.

    Building experience

The build was pretty easy for me but I'm not sure about it for a 5-year-old. However, it doesn't lose many points because it is still pretty easy.

    Parts

This set isn't exactly great part central, but it has a motorcycle piece and computer screens, so it could be worse.

    Playability

I remember after I got this set as a kid, It was the only toy I touched for two months (give or take)

    Value for money

I think this set was worth $45, and the price per part ratio isn't bad either.

    Awesome and long overdue

Written by (TFOL) in United States,

This set is awesome for its value and a major upgrade to the 2005 set Ultimate lightsaber duel 7257. The scenery is smaller than I would've liked but is beautiful. The build is easy and satisfying but the best part of the set is obviously the minifigures. Episode 3 Obi Wan and Anakin? No way. Two awesome, updated, and desirable minifigures for $20!

The playfeature to make the minifigures fight is also great and a huge upgrade over the clunky mechanism on the 2005 version.

A good set with 2 good builds and some mediocre

Written by (TFOL) in United States,

Don't get me wrong, the base building and the driller are great, fun, and easy to build, but the rest of the builds (helicopter, snowmobile, and dog sled) are small, pointless and bad builds adding to the price and piece count. Although it is the flagship set of the wave, it is not the most expensive, that title going to the 60062 Arctic Icebreaker, which is $130, as opposed to this set's $90 price point. I think they could've made this set's price point anywhere from $100-$140, and included a better helicopter more like the one from 60034 Arctic Helicrane. I see room for improvement in the snowmobile too.

I think the building age range is spot on, although that is an assumption because I built this set when I was older than 6. The build was easy and enjoyable, as are most city sets. One of the great things about city sets is how easy and enjoyable they are to build.

This set has some of the best parts I've seen in a city set. Everything from the tracks, to the conveyer belt, to the huskies, to the polar bear, to the top of the base building commonly used as a fuselage on airplanes and helicopters and many more.

I think $90 is a fair price for what you get here. There may only be 733 pieces, but the size of the peices and build than make up for it.
