Stitch, from the Lilo & Stitch franchise, is one of Disney's most beloved characters. Even after 22 years, Stitch merchandise seems very popular, especially in a certain affordable clothes store here in the UK, so it's no surprise that LEGO wanted in on the action.
Stitch is a genetically engineered extraterrestrial creature supposedly resembling a blue koala, so let's see if 43249 Stitch resembles experiment 626!
LEGO continues to expand with new licensed themes, now including Peppa Pig in the DUPLO range! The press release follows:
Hello Peppa Pig! Hello Daddy Pig! The LEGO Group Welcomes PEPPA PIG Franchise into LEGO DUPLO
A delightfully unexpected mashup of companies founded in fun and play is now revealed between the LEGO Group, Hasbro and Merlin Entertainments, who are coming together to bring a truly joyful and beloved character to life in LEGO DUPLO form – PEPPA PIG!
Just in time for PEPPA PIG’s 20th anniversary, the companies are celebrating everyone’s favorite piggy with new experiences for toddlers. With a shared commitment to create and deliver great play experiences to children all around the world, the three brands will introduce new ways for preschoolers to engage with the much adored and globally celebrated PEPPA PIG character, known for her little snorts, giggles and love of jumping in muddy puddles.
The 44th addition to the LEGO Ideas range is 21336 The Office, which is based on the popular US TV series of the same name that ran for nine seasons between 2005 and 2013.
Having only recently binge-watched the whole lot earlier this year, I was very excited when this set was announced, so I hope it lives up to expectations.
As you might expect, this review contains spoilers because the set references many iconic moments from the show.
The reveal of 31205 Jim Lee Batman Collection generated a lot of excitement among LEGO DC fans, particularly as the portraits were designed by comic book legend Jim Lee in conjunction with colourist collaborator Alex Sinclair.
Unlike some Art sets, the three pictures that can be built from this one are all very different, both in design and colour palette.
Flexible bracelets were among the first selection of sets released when the DOTS theme launched last year. For 2021, LEGO has introduced some thinner one-stud wide ones that come in packs of two.
For some reason the retail price of this season's bracelets has gone up £1/$1 to £5.99/$5.99 per pack, but Tesco is currently selling them for two for £8 which makes the price a bit more palatable.
I therefore purchased 41909 Mermaid Vibes Bracelets and 41910 Ice Cream Besties Bracelets while doing my essential shopping.
Bag Tags are the newest accessory to be added to the fast-expanding DOTS range. Four were released this month, including those I'm looking at today, 41928 Narwhal and 41930 Panda. A unicorn and dragon, both of which are likely to be popular, will follow later in the year.
41924 Secret Holder is one of the DOTS sets that was released in January which, along with 41925 Secret Boxes, has been designed to hide little objects and trinkets inside.
So, let's get on and build the brick-built moggy and find some secrets to stash...
Donny Chen's playable piano project on LEGO Ideas passed review in May 2019 and now, 15 months later, it's finally available. As a pianist myself with a degree in music, I was certainly excited when 21323 Grand Piano was revealed and I've been looking forward to building it ever since.
It's the largest Ideas set released to date, comprising 3662-pieces and priced at $350/£320. It contains a Powered Up hub, motor and colour sensor, and links to the Powered Up smartphone app to make it 'playable'.
It sounds impressive, doesn't it. Let's see if that's the case...
A couple of weeks ago in my review of 41916 Extra Dots - Series 2, I didn't feel the colours were suited for many of the DOTS sets already available as they are quite bright warm-toned shades.
However, it seemed 41908 Extra Dots - Series 1 was, especially for 41915 Jewellery Box, as it fits with the pastel colour scheme.
In addition to pretty bracelets and decorative items, the DOTS range includes some practical storage items too, whether it be for organising your jewellery or tidying your desk.
For the latter, we had 41906 Pineapple Pencil Holder earlier in the year and now 41907 Desk Organiser has just been released, so our desks are nice and tidy here at Brickset HQ!
The Extra DOTS packs may be the most appealing aspect of the theme for many AFOLs. They're a cheap way to get your hands on lots of tile pieces for your own MOCs
41908 Extra Dots - Series 1, which contained pastel tiles with emoji themed printed round tiles, was released earlier in the year, and now we have 41916 Extra Dots - Series 2, which is a lot brighter with some 'text' themed printed square tiles.
LEGO has dipped its toes into wearable constructables a few times in the past, most notably with Clikits, which came out when I was the perfect age for them, but they were not very 'LEGO like'.
Its latest product, DOTS, has returned to LEGO system. The bracelet bands have studs that connect with standard LEGO tiles so you could say that they are more 'authentic LEGO'.
Following on from my review of 41914 Creative Picture Frames, today I'm taking a look at new DOTS set 41915 Jewellery Box.
Like the 41905 Rainbow Jewellery Stand that MeganLreviewed a while ago, you can use it to sort and store your jewellery, or any other small bits and pieces for that matter.
Hello! For those that don't know me, I'm Huw's daughter, Alice. I manage the site's social media channels but over the next couple of weeks I'll also be taking a look at some of the new DOTS sets to keep me occupied during lockdown.
Today I'm taking a look at 41914 Creative Picture Frames which, like 41904 Animal Picture Holders that MeganL reviewed last month, provides a way to attractively display photographs.
