By in Canada,

Huwbot loves them plates. I mean, planes.

By in United States,

So long as it's not the Holiday Jet, Huwbot can pick as many planes as he chooses.

By in United States,

My brother got one of these when we were children. I was jealous, but now I have all the childhood Lego, as he has no interest in them. Recently cleaned the parts in some hydrogen peroxide, and the while really brightened up. If you ask me, it's still a cool little set, and was way cool at the time to have a pretty good model of a plane in Lego.

By in United States,

You kinda forget just how old those little jet engine pieces are.

Not really an improvement over last week's.

By in Brazil,

It is the shiny version of the set from previous week.

I adored this set, rebuilt it again and again.

WOO, had this one...still dig: the jets. the tailfin, and the wheels. Those hubs added to a 3959 (Butt...I digress:D), made awesome rayguns back-in-the-day...and still do:)

Nothing can come of nothing, speak again LEGO Jet.

By in Germany,

Database is running out of vintage sets. So Huwbot had to repaint last weeks set and shoot it from a different angle.

By in United Kingdom,

I bet this is how all the Lego big-wigs fly.

By in United States,

Don't you hate it when Lego pads the piece count with so many small parts that smooth everything out, and make it look like it's not Lego.

Oh... this.

See, I would never buy this even as a kid. This is the kind of thing I built myself from the big bulk box as a little kid at that same time. Was I a clandestine Lego designer, and never knew it?

I did live 70 miles down the road from the biggest Lego factory in the US at that time.

“Smithers, I've designed a new plane! I call it the Spruce Moose, and it will carry 200 passen-“

Wait, no no no, stop, made that reference week. I’ll have to find another

"I said, 'hop in'."

(Think I've used that line before as well)

By in Netherlands,

Remember what I said about those bricks with windows print in blue and white show up in bulk lots and never leave my store?

This set had the white ones. Same story, different color.

No, this set uses alternating red and white 1x2 plates.

"mmm, nope, don't see a jet! maybe it's behind that weird thing that looks like @PurpleDave's head."

That thing is _far_ too bald to ever be mistaken for my head.

By in United States,

This is a model of the jet I flew to Nova Scotia to watch a total eclipse of the sun.

By in Germany,

Wait, that's supposed to be white?
Looks light gray to me.
Must be the strange lighting setup.

Don’t you mean red and trans clear?

@Astrobricks:
Those plates are old enough that they're probably closer to translucent yellow by now.

Yes. I got sidetracked by the four white 1x2s on the wingtips- apparently the 1x4 plate didn't exist yet?

You're so vain.... I bet you think this post is about you, don't you?

By in Finland,

Is this the first IP ariplane from Lego?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Murdoch17:
I used to have an issue with this song, because it was clearly written about _someone_ who would be the only person in the world who wouldn’t actually be vain for thinking it was written about them. And it wasn’t directly addressing anyone who it wasn’t about, so I feel like maybe they get a pass on a technicality.

Then I found out it’s about _three_ people, and now it sorta works, if any of them think the whole song referred to them.

@trelic: 661 and 1560-2 (which was doubly licensed)were released the same year.. No idea which one hit shelves first, though.

Oh...I almost forgot 'the obligatory':
Operator: [Captain Oveur is on the phone with the Mayo Clinic] Excuse me, Captain Oveur, but I have an emergency call on line five from a Mr. Hamm.
Captain Oveur: Alright, give me a Hamm on five, hold the Mayo.
Couldn't help it:)
