By in Canada,

Is this a French set? Where's the green?

By in New Zealand,

Tech Deck move over!! Lego wanted some of that market.

By in Kenya,

Looks like he landed on his face a few too many times before he perfected that trick.

By in United States,

I always liked the skateboards from this line. I didn't have this one, but I think I had 3535. I got my hands one one of the skateboards somehow, anyway.

By in United States,

These ramp pieces make nice train tunnels or bridge arches when used upside down. (Good luck getting them in quantity these days, though!)

By in New Zealand,

The graphic designer has done an excellent job for the box art.

By in United States,

I probably saw this at NYTF, but honestly, I don't remember seeing this ever before in my life.

By in Brazil,

I always regret not getting some Sports sets, especially from the Gravity Games subtheme, back then

Still prefer these to the trolley wheel boards. Bought a bunch on bricklink in the last few years and they look much better, even if they are a bit less "system".

By in United Kingdom,

Hey guys I think the Gravity Games might be involved with this set. Just a weird idea I had, don’t know where I got it from…

By in Netherlands,

It's a good thing you still see a few studs (and obviously the minifigs).....otherwise this doesn't look like Lego at all...

Ah, Lego Sports...bouncing from Soccer/Football, to Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Basketball, and Hockey...although the last one had some reeeeally weird figures (Lego Hockey Player 'A':"...Are we 'Bionicles'?" Player 'B':..."Umm...maybe?"). Too bad the line didn't stick around a little longer: Lego Pro 'Rastlin' (Ring alone would be worth it :D).

By in Netherlands,

I never fancied myself much of a sportsman, I just don't have the talent or ambition for it. In my defense, I also don't have a mouth, goatee and unibrow that all stretch across my face to the exact same width. I don't know if that's in any way related, but I suspect that "Skateboarder, Dark Blue Shirt, Tan Legs"'s parents may have been.

I missed a lot of cool sets and themes during my dark age. This is not one of them.

There are also two Hockey sets with minifigs, 3578 and 3579 Playability is high and they are much nicer than those Technic ones

I knew someone who owned this set. This doesn't even show the weirdest part of the set:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=bb0128&idColor=2

The most early 2000s part ever in terms of sheer 'what were they thinking'. Appears in just 1 other set.
It's for making minifigs do trick flips remotely. And by that I mean you put a torso on it and you spin it with the red slider.

Totally unrelated or anything but in 2003 lego almost went bankrupt. I wonder why.

I would recommend Brick By Brick, which goes into more detail about the other reasons if you haven't read it already.

By in Denmark,

I love the ramp. But these faces are the worst LEGO ever made. I prefer the 80's faces over these ugly ones!

By in United Kingdom,

Just missing part 4174937: BOWED RAMP 16X16X6 which appears in 3585-1 and 3433-1, which would make a really great skate park.

@NotProfessorWhymzi:
Funny thing is, when I saw the first snowboarding sets at NYTF, my showroom guide told me to give 3538 a try. I put the snowboarder at the top of the slope, gave him a little push, and he zoomed right to the finish line. My guide just stood there for a beat before telling me nobody had managed to get him to the bottom of the course without him falling over. Funny how, in the two decades since, they’ve never tried to remake that set…

Whoa I didn’t realize this was owned by so few of us! I have two of these. Picked them up on deep clearance, probably at KB Toys.

RIP, KB. Your retail sacrifice enabled this humble Southerner to vastly expand his LEGO collection.

I need these skateboards (which I did not even know existed). The current ones don't look right compared to them. Mission accepted!
