For me, the Clone Walker Battle Pack belongs among the sets which define their respective generations of LEGO fans. An all-time classic.

I know the newer clones are a nicer design than the Clone Wars era design... but I regret skipping out on this. Four figures just for $12... the pilot clone was pretty rare too.

Clone Wars again?

Oh Clone Wars! Nothing but Clone Wars!
Give me those Clone Wars! Don't let them end!

(Although with that said, had Maul's story been resolved in The Lawless, my hot take is that Clone Wars would have been better had it ended with Season 5.)

Agreed! I had resisted getting the Clone Wars sets here in Brazil, since I had never watched the show and they were too expensive. But then I was studying abroad in Canada when I saw this set at a bookstore, and I simply couldn’t resist it!

A) This is one of my favorite Star Wars sets ever. I had two copies of them when I was a kid and used to go on all kinds of wacky adventures. I'm pretty sure I even named all the Clones of my first copy, but have long since forgotten them. IIRC I even fixed up one of those walkers a couple years ago and its sitting in my bedside cabinet right now. The balance between blocky LEGO, sleek Star Wars, and angular source material is fun. The legs are a delight to ratchet into place. The flick fire missiles even feel more appropriate than a lot of sets they appear in. And four figures for that price!? It is perfect!

B) Super ironic timing. This weekend I've been catching up on Star Wars. Just finished all of The Bad Batch Season 2 and have one more episode until I'm caught up on Mando Season 3. I'm still reeling from Mando S3E2 because... they straight up had a BIONICLE Rahkshi in it. The main bad guy of the episode looked a lot like them, and moved just like them, and even had a similar "I'm not dead yet" *head crawls away* mechanic. The big differences are the organic creature controlling it was an eye rather than a worm and it had four arms instead of two. Even still, that was cool! I didn't notice *any* BIONICLE-esc imagery or concepts in the mainline Star Wars films, Clone Wars, or Rebels, but ever since Resistance/Mando every few episodes there's a "hey wait a minute" moment that has me convinced some Bonk fan has wormed their way into the art department.

I received this gem for Christmas at the ripe old age of 30. Thank you, mom, for ensuring that my love for the bricks never went away.

By in Canada,

To me the best parts of this set are the kama and the green trim.

You mean the gunner?

By in United States,

This feels kinda like bolting a second bike seat to the handlebars. Yes, there’s technically a spot for a second person to sit, but it feels inevitable that the passenger is going to faceplant at some point.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Without a doubt, one of the 'classic' LEGO Star Wars sets. Now they need to do a remake without the 'anime' Clone Wars figures.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just realized that this was made 14 years ago.

I feel old...

By in United States,

What a nostalgic set! Unfortunately in my house we weren't allowed to buy multiples of the same set, and my brother was given this for his birthday. It is by far one of the best army builders ever. I also really miss the attachment pack, especially the light attachments and guns. Even the armor. I don't like how tall it makes clones look, but I prefer the physical parts that are more durable and better looking than cloth. Hopefully we get standard clones in a battle pack soon.

By in United States,

The lego set that started it all for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have 2 of these and when I was a kid, I attached the 2 walkers together to make a 4-legged one by putting their rear ends together and securing them with a few plates. Then I turned the legs around on one of them so they all faced "forward." I called it a tiger walker. Good times.

By in United Kingdom,

One of the first battle packs and, frankly, still one of the best

Gravatar
By in United States,

@GSR_MataNui had not made that Bionicle connection before, but it’s pretty great! I’m surprised you had to name the ARC Trooper looking one, given Star Wars and its propensity for naming even one-off clones. This one reminds me of the…Captain, I believe…who served the Jedi Master whose name was literally an anagram of “I’m gonna die.”

By in United States,

Oh yeah! All-time classic set! I own six of these!
I bought two of the 7676 Republic Gunships along with the 10195 Dropship And AT-OT, so I needed clones to fill them up. This set was perfect for that.
You can attach the walkers to the underside of the gunship wing pods.

Wholeheartedly agree. I remember getting this set at LEGOLand California back in Summer 2009. It played a huge role in kickstarting my interest in LEGO, Star Wars, and LEGO Star Wars!

By in Netherlands,

I didn't have the money for these at the time. And I avoided collecting Star Wars because it was more expensive than other themes. Looking back, this might be the best battle pack. Period. You get three standard regs (one can be an ARC trooper with the accessories) and a nice build. Certainly a lot better than walkers from later battle packs. And one uncommon gunner. That's a nice balance, and like I said you can switch out the ARC for a standard trooper.
I wish it didn't cost an arm and a leg now. It's a nice set especially when you don't want to army build and just want a Galactic Republic set. For army builders this one must have been great as well. But what isn't? Those packs with super specialized troops were still bought in the dozens, so who cares about balance within a pack if you're army building...

By in United Kingdom,

I remember trying to convert the walker into a classic space skimmer for 4 mini-figs with flexible arms was fun.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I remember the LEGO animations featuring these particular clones for their Quest for R2-D2 story they had in 2009, especially the 2 plain clones being named 1137 and 1139 (I differentiated them by giving them the remaining accessories from the set), and the gunner was called Blasty. Palpatine ordered them to retrieve R2-D2, fearing the droid was holding his evil plans. When the Jedi found him instead (he held plans for I think the Malevolence), he personally fired these clones from the army, and they were last seen vacationing.

An overall classic set. I also remember the army-building videos on Youtube.

I think I'm a clone now
Every pair of genes is a hand-me-down
I think I'm a clone now
There's always two of me that are hanging around

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I miss the pauldron and waist cape pieces, but I sure don't miss those ugly face prints!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ahh this one brings so much nostalgia. Love the clone gunner helmet, also great accessories with this including what I believe are head torches (those black lipstick looking things) that I haven't seen much of since.

Star Wars sets when The Clone Wars series first came out were great, all of the sets from that time still hold up imo. Nowadays there's so much Star Wars that LEGO can only afford around 2 sets for most series, although Rebels' set count was also very little in comparison.

By in United Kingdom,

Unlike some, I'm not a massive fan of this set. I was never into the standard Clone Wars phase 1 troopers cos I knew we had to get more movie-accurate phase 1 troopers at some point, and I was proven right 4 years later. I also think the walker in this set is one of the weaker battle pack builds.

As Clone Wars battle packs go I prefer 7913 as the clones in it have cool and unique printing and it includes a canon vehicle--the BARC speeder.

Yeah but they're less versatile.
No matter how many new rainbow-colored clones come out, nothing will beat the classic boys in white.

I found this in 2013 for $2 on clearance. Probably the best Lego deal I've ever seen personally.

@SearchlightRG:
"Jedi Master whose name was literally an anagram of “I’m gonna die."

I have never heard of this.

@Zrath:
"You can attach the walkers to the underside of the gunship wing pods."

Or this.

@Binnekamp:
I’ve seen a diorama of The 300 at Brickworld Chicago, which appeared to have a full 300 CMF Spartans. Some AFOLs have pockets deep enough that it’s no biggie to buy dozens of these battle packs just to armybuild one minifig, especially if they can eventually find uses for the rest.

@SolidState:
A week ago, we did a display at a show where a few vendors bring in LEGO parts. One of the guys in my LUG came back to the table with the Adventurers dirigible container. The price he paid? $2.

I tend to agree. This is probably the best ever, as far as clone troopers go. I really loved the clone wars show and I really love the helmet accessories, which allows some nice customization within the rather normal troopers. Other packs have more distinctive troopers, such as 7913 or my other fav 75001 but I want more of the standard troopers than the unique ones...

You mean "Ima Gun Di"? That's not an anagram. It's a loaded pun, and I regret nothing.

Ahhhh what an amazing set. I bought two of them, and I remember the second copy contained a CHROME DARTH VADERRRRRR!!!! So lucky! I will never forget that!

He sits comfortably inside a nice plastic display box...

Dang. That second copy cost you roughly -€400, which is a pretty good price.

By in Canada,

This was always the "one that got away" for me growing up.
My peak Star Wars fan years (Clone wars especially) were roughly 2012-2014, and I always wanted to collect as many of these basic P1 clones as possible. They were out of production by that time, and I didn't know about Bricklink, so I was always jealous of older kids who had gotten these sets back in the day. In the end I managed to collect a little over 10 of them here and there, mostly through trading with buddies.
Either way, nostalgia!

A long long time ago I got my dad to help me buy some lego star wars accessories and figures off ebay. Now I know where a bunch of those parts came from.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Not a Bad Batch if I do say so myself!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I had two of these back in the day--both gifts, as I was in a self-imposed non-Star Wars age (and poor)--and it's been on my mind a bit thanks to encountering the non-fig parts in a used batch of LEGO recently. The walker isn't entirely "battle pack filler" schlock--it's actually a better scale that some of those other walkers in more "real" sets.

Battle pack Hall of Fame right here, an all-around fantastic set

Gravatar
By in United States,

This walker is the best for plunging the toilet when you have a really tough clog.

In other words, the gun is silly. The figs are epic.

By in Japan,

Glorious set. Up there as one of, if not THE best battle packs of all time.
So customisable, plus you could fill in your AT-OT.
