Since when did slavery have to be censored? Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it.

I knew in my heart before I scrolled down that something to this effect would be the first comment.

FETT! (Fett... Fett... Fett... Fett...)
FETT! (Fett... Fett... Fett... Fett...)
Boba FETT! (Fett... Fett... Fett... Fett...)

What a way to ruin a pretty great theme. Book of Baba Fett was not a masterpiece, but it had good moments, however that change to the theme in the final episode just makes everything a bit of a joke. I think they were going for Boba Fett finally becoming his own man and this celebrates him, but it was perfect with the intelligible vocalizations.

Oh yeah, and this Brickmaster Mini is pretty neat. Not perfect, but there's a lot of good stuff about it, not too unlike the show that would come out 10 years later.

I mean, what else would? The only thing that really ever beats out this type thing is nostalgia.

By in United States,

Undoubtedly the best of the microscale Slave I's. Wish it was more broadly available back then - most of the Brickmaster sets seem well designed that I'd get them even now. Does feel like we're overdue for another of them at polybag scale - probably after the microfighter has its run though.

And here I was thinking I was crazy for not hearing "FETT!!!" until the last episode

Interesting comparing this not only to 75344, but to CELEBVI.

Still upset we haven't got an updated Jango Fett version of the fig-scale ship in 21 years. The original set is old enough to drink (at least here in the USA) and it might as well... it's very lonely being all by yourself.

By in United States,

One of the few Slaves-1 that slipped through my fingers. I have quite the collection of minifig-fitting ones. But it was hard to keep track of all the smaller versions.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It was either this or the Indiana Jones set that got me to sign up for Brickmaster.

Seconded, I LOVE the Jango iteration and have been, for most of my life, rather bothered by my inability to get it in LEGO form, the prequels get shafted constantly but this is one of the most egregious absences

Yeah, it's as if people don't understand that English words have more than one meaning;

Slave - noun - a device, or part of one, directly controlled by another.

Master/slave is a model of asymmetric communication or control where one device or process (the "master") controls one or more other devices or processes (the "slaves") and serves as their communication hub. In some systems, a master is selected from a group of eligible devices, with the other devices acting in the role of slaves.

Ah, reminds of last year; May to be more accurate...
First time visiting a friend of mine in Alberta in about 7 years, and first visit to 'Brick Bin'; a Lego reseller in Calgary. My friend, with his wife's...endorsement? Allowance? At any rate; he bought a 1st edition 'Death Star,' aaaaand a 1st Edition 'Slave One'...which I proceeded to drive him NUTS calling it "Firespray"...ah, good times:)

By in United Kingdom,

Honestly impressive that they’ve managed to capture Slave I’s many sweeping shapes on such a small scale

Gravatar
By in United States,

Was Brickmaster a magazine or something? This was during my dark age.

@Brickalili agreed, the shaping is very well done.

Be careful, you might get yourself blacklisted. :)

It was kinda like a paid subscription version of the LEGO Club Magazine. I think it shipped every other month, but you got a Brickmaster magazine, and an exclusive set.

Related to that, double doors often have a master and slave. The master door can be opened on its own; the slave cannot. If both are opened, the master is first. And to close both, the slave goes first.

By in Netherlands,

This might be the single best rendition of the Slave I for its size to accuracy ratio. No unnecessary bloat, everything is purposeful.
I miss Brickmaster. I never got any of those sets, but man are they good!
Well, I own 20012 Click but besides that, I mean! I actually originally picked one up from a local store (Blokker) over here in 2010 (a year after its release) so it wasn't from the magazine itself. I then sold it and now re-acquired it, by the way.

The Spaceship Formerly Known As Slave I.

Maybe it can use that Mandalorian symbol as its name?

Owned by a former villain.
Who went through trauma when his dad was beheaded by an evil jedi during a sports event. *sob*

Also a ticket to LEGOLAND California. @B_Space_Man , the Brickmaster magazine was essentially an expanded version of the LEGO Club magazine, if you’re familiar with that. The Brickmaster one would typically have the same instructions, puzzles, cartoons, etc., but also more.

It was a pretty great deal, honestly. I think it originally cost $39.99 for a one-year subscription/membership, and for that money you’d get a couple Shop @Home coupons, a ticket for a child’s one-day admission to LEGOLAND, and six bimonthly mailings that each contained the Brickmaster magazine, plus an exclusive polybag set. The polybags came from across a variety of LEGO themes active at the time, including but not limited to licensed ones - Atlantis, Bionicle, City, Creator, Indiana Jones, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Star Wars. I quite miss it, even if I couldn’t use the LEGOLAND tickets myself.

@PurpleDave said:

I’d assume it was the Indy one (the same one that finally got me to sign up), since it came out about three years before this one.

By in Germany,

I always found the name funny, because in German Fett is the word for fat/lard.
Not the surname I would have chosen for a family of bounty hunters...
