What, is this for go-karts? The wheels are the same size as the pit crew's vehicle!

I loved that jack.

...I see there is a Jack, but where is Jill in this set?

I didn’t know they made service vehicles for those cars that kids can drive around the yard on lantern batteries.

She fell off that hill in the background. The ambulance was called. It was tragic.

By in Canada,

The jack was a great part.

Tires after thrown in back of truck: pretty easy to access over box fence.
Wrench and hammer: nah nah nah nah boo boo!

Well...I don't know "Jack", but I'm a fan of that trailer; it's one of those part that TLG should make again/update. Beyond/besides that, the truck's tires should've been bigger; and a racer should've been included too w/driver.

I love it, this is gold to me.

By in Denmark,

Such a beauty! <3 Never got it, but I do have a couple of those trailers (with red wheels, though).

By in Germany,

Where was this available? Was it a promotional item? Regular set numbers back in the day usually didn't start with a "1".
Haven't seen this in any catalogue before.
Anyway, great looking set. Would have been a perfect addition to my City back then, especially for my Auto Workshop 6369.

By in Jersey,

Interesting part, that single piece trailer. Sporadic use in the 1970s (with red wheels) then out of production for a decade until being revived in this and the big 6395 set, both with the white wheels and consequently rarer. I like it, but it's fragile.

Actually there was a Race Car included, since this Set was exclusive to value Pack 1515 .

A shame that some of the best sets were limited and promotional items. This one definitely should have been a 6xxx!

@MCLegoboy Back then, these were standard wheel sizes for all vehicles that weren't heavy-duty trucks.

By in Netherlands,

That trailer is an interesting part as it actually predates the minifigure! It appeared in only six sets, from 1972-1989. The first usages were actually on those vintage boxy minifigless vehicles like 650, 660. Then it was 692 and 492 until finally it re-appeared in this set and set 6395 in the late eighties!
Fascinating!

Nice set btw. The truck has tiny tires though.

By in United Kingdom,

The wheels on the van just look so teeny tiny, only one type of tyre available at this race course?

Miss the jack, which worked well in lifting the 'missing' car so a mini-fig could look underneath, and would go well with today's racer sets. Set 1952 had chunky tires, so could have used here as well. From the previous comment glad they brought back the 1970's trailer, even if only for 2 sets.

@Brickalili:
They don’t really change tires mid-race with go-karts. Run them until they fall apart.

Most of the Legoland-era sets starting with 1 were "limited release", meaning they were regional exclusives. A lot of them seem to be NA-exclusive. And many of them were sold in "value packs" like this one was (sometimes 2 or 3 town sets, sometimes a town/space/castle sampler).

From what I've seen, my guess is they were "extras" that didn't make the cut for the regular yearly catalog.

Despite any shortcomings of the set, it is pure 80's Legoland Town nostalgia. There is nothing better!
