He has been on a bit of a SW theme lately, hasn't he?

Great arc of the Clone Wars, great set, all around a great time. And I don't want to hear any bellyaching about the Clone Wars eyes, I like them. (=_= )

I have to imagine that Rex here alone comes close to recouping the cost of the set, were you to sell him.

The walker LOOKS solid, but I've never held one so cannot verify. It's late enough (i.e. 2010s) Star Wars that hopefully it is.

@Formendacil:
$40 retail, and the cheapest Used right now is $59. New is $82. Cheapest 6mo sold is $32 (New) or $17 (Used), which are also two of the only three instances that this version of Rex has sold for less than the retail cost of the set over the past half year.

By in Canada,

Hmm I know I have at least one Rex like this but seemed to miss recording this set as owned. Maybe my CW tabulations are incomplete.

But this is another instance where one minifig dominates the resale price of a set (I prefer used anyway, since opening a new one cuts its value by way too much).

This is literally the best Star Wars set under $50.

Interesting detail. The BARC speeder is quite different between TCW and Revenge of the Sith. This set's BARC is based on Revenge of the Sith not TCW's.

His whole head is a gun and he is beautiful

Man I liked the battle mode in lsw 3, these guys are way better than the republic counterparts, but most of the stuff for CIS was better than the republic versions.

Rex comes second to getting a physical set of a battle level cannon IMO, either way I wish I didn’t miss out on this one looking back.

I remember being amused that the cannon's gun barrel had a literal barrel on the end.

While I was less fussed about getting yet another speeder, I couldn't resist getting this set for the cool artillery cannon droid

I was incredibly lucks and my dad gave me 7675 with him in for my birthday 2 years ago, from his secret stash of old sets in the loft. It feels great to own him especially as phase 2 Rex is way above my budget, especially for just one figure

Droids operating droids, that's perverse!

The walker is pretty solid. The design is really nice. The cold dead eyes have a HAL 9000 feeling about them. The canon elevation is controlled by a well-designed gear mechanism. The only real parts shedding danger is the knee pad armor.

@MeisterDad

A very similar Rex came in 7675. Perhaps that is the set you're looking for?

Accidentally deleted my comment.

The set feels unbalanced. What's a BARC speeder going to do against an artillery cannon? It feels like they wanted to get to a specific price point instead of a cohesive whole, IMHO.

But with all the talk about minifigs... Luminara! She's an uncommon character, so it's nice to see her included. And it's nice to see her in a set where she's not a Light Up Lightsaber version!

Oh, and using a literal barrel as a gun barrel is some NPU and makes for a nice pun too!

By in Germany,

This is a perfectly good BARC speeder. I don't think they added quality latly by giving them more (over-)size. Yeah, we know the answer.

In Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a BARC speeder with the super lasers power-up can destroy a cannon with just a couple of shots :)

What, really? In that case I retract my statement! ;)

Also, they have a Jedi.

By in Netherlands,

Quite a nice set. The Republic's counterpart, the AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon, would be released 3 years later.

By in United States,

Hey, there's a Brickset reviewer in that set!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I always wanted this set. Would still take it for a reasonable price.

I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home. They're not much bigger than two meters.

By in United Kingdom,

I bought this back in the day. My first CW set though I'd not seen the show. I couldn't resist Luminara and Rex, with his kama, pauldron & pistols AND the B2 with blaster arm AND the speeder were all added bonuses. Great set.

The cannon looks o.k. in the promo pics but, once you have it assembled, it feels incomplete. The side opposite the gunner is rather open and the feet just need "more". Also, the screw to adjust the firing angle feels more natural at the back of the assembly instead of at the front, and adding some white parabolas under the red eyes make them stand out more. And an additional slope on the top, front just rounds it off better.

@Maxximus:
I’m not sure fiddling in back to raise its gun is any better than doing it in the front. Maybe the side? Probably not possible in such a small model, but it’d solve certain, uh, “connotation” issues.

The open right side represents where the shells would be put into the cannon.
