By in United States,

There are no words to describe the design of this set. I am speechless at the placement of everything and the lack of stairs.
Christian, Olivia, and Thomas may look happy, but they will one day regret this living situation.

By in United States,

And as long as they eat and live outside it will remain a happy home ;)

The home just isn't that happy since My Dad left

It's not that far away from past and current designs from any theme.

By in Canada,

I guess they sleep downstairs on the sofabed while baby is upstairs in the crib. Kid’s got it made.

By in United States,

Man that home is really happy

Gravatar
By in United States,

I saw the picture before the article title…at first I thought it was an old safari type set…

Gravatar
By in United States,

How do they get to the second floor?

Gravatar
By in United States,

ah yes, everybody knows a happy home is a weird two roofed scaffold construction in a void that looks like the cosmic background radiation from the big bane

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m just wondering why the guy at the table isn’t wearing any pants.

By in United Kingdom,

$100?? For 265 pieces? Really?
$100 in 2000 is approximately equivalent to $163 now. Enough to buy 41684 Heartlake City grand hotel, plus 41682 Heartlake City school- total 1913 pieces. Not a direct comparison because of the size of the pieces and so on, but still this was an expensive set for a skeleton of a house

I guess that's why they couldn't beat archnemesis Mattel. Barbie isn't as versatile as Lego, but taller and maybe cheaper? Don't know for sure, never cared much for girls' toys ;P

"Should we tell them that their house has no walls and an inaccessible second floor?"

"No, let them be. It is their happy home."

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The roof looks like two tents to me. Maybe that's where the non-kids sleep... quite the climb though.

Happy Home, Crappy Campsite

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Christian: "Honey...the walls got stolen."
Olivia: "...Again?!?"
C: "Again...get the kid, we're moving..."

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I'm more concerned that the nursery seems to be in the kitchen.

By in United States,

The Happy Home, with trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes and THEY'RE COMING TO TAKE ME AWAY, HA-HAA!

By in Finland,

For some reason, I happen to own that watering can in lime. While visiting BL, I realized it's actually a Fabuland piece. It was nice to see a minifig scale version in the Friends sets this year.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Amazing colours.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

With all those walls missing it’s more like a Gappy Home

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is the happy home -- we're happy here
In the happy home -- oh it's such fun
We've come to play in the happy home
And waste a day in the happy home

It never rains
We've come to scream in the happy home
We're in a dream in the happy home
We're all quite sane

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can’t relate with this home

Gravatar
By in Austria,

59 people want this set - me included now :-)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Where is the happy? Where is the home? Where is the lego?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Why is the cooker in the baby's room?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I love how with all available pieces and design freedom, this came up as their most optimal solution.

"It costs too much. Get rid of the walls! Still too costly. Get rid of the stairs! Still too expensive. Get rid of the bathroom! And the bedroom!" Yes, now it is perfect.

I still really like how the dolls are shown building the set in the instructions. That’s such a fun detail that makes me smile every time I see it.

Not having any scala sets or seen the instructions before, this is a lovely TIL.

By in Netherlands,

So this is where My Dad lives. No wonder he spends so much time in that box with 'that' expression. I feel your pain, My Dad... oh wait, I can't because it must be unfathomable and eldritch.

It's nice to have an image that shows the full set built for once.

@EvilTwin:
Must be the Disney/Star Wars tax. I mean, that’s what always gets blamed for high price per piece, right?

@legoguy:
They must not live someplace that gets snow. Or rain. Or wind that kicks up bits of debris.

@Binnekamp:
Or him being locked up in a cardboard box is the reason this is now a Happy Home, even though he clearly tore much of it apart, all Shining-style.

@SJPlego:

In my happy home, I barely breathe
In my lover's arms, I find relief
And there's a sky that's changing and a bird that sings
I never once in my wayward life was heading to run out

In my lover's arms, I wait for morning
I beg my god to speak and tear me apart
I'd lay down my body, I'd lay down my arms
I never once in my sweet, short life meant anybody harm

In my happy home, I read the signs
In my lover's arms, I move in time
There's no more crying and there's no more lies
I never once in my sweet, short life was waiting for desire

And there's no more crying and there's no more pain
I never thought for one second I'd have nothing left but shame

In my happy home I barely breathe
I never once in my wayward life was heading to run out

@WemWem:
I believe that was Happy _House_.

By in Hungary,

Is there any LEGO in this set?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

There is supposed to be a kitten but I cannot see it anywhere. Just so many small items everywhere with no home, I will be surprised if anyone still has a 100% complete collection.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Doesnt look so happy to me...

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Too many good sets recently, I presume...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

They’d have to pay me $100 to take this set… Jesus.
