NO WAY! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!
This is my favorite battle pack. The specialized troopers and that Barc Speeder being the best looking Barc Speeder that's of a proper scale to the figures makes it the best.

I never understood why they abandoned this BARC design. It's much more scale-accurate than say, 75280 's

Can’t go wrong with a box full of clones!

Always down for more clone designs. Any set that has one automatically goes on my desired list

I am not sure whether I would name this as my favourite Battle Pack but it is certainly among the best. As mentioned above, this BARC Speeder is fantastic and is probably the best vehicle from any Battle Pack, in my opinion.

Between the likes of this set, 7655 Clone Troopers Battle Pack and 8014 Clone Walker Battle Pack one wonders why LEGO seems reluctant to produce similar packs today.

I love this set! I remember having this set. It was one of my favorite sets, and still is one of the best battle packs LEGO has made!

The orange on those bomb-defusal troopers always stood out to me, super cool looking!

@Snaz you can say that again! My brother and I finally built the 501st a couple days ago and that speeder is bloody massive. Thing is longer than the walker is tall!

By in United States,

I never saw the appeal of this one. The bomb squad troopers (is that what they were?) seemed way too niche to me. Now two or three of those ARF troopers would have been a different story…

I do agree that it is a great BARC design, though.

For some reason, I randomly have the torso from the clone depicted on the left of the image, and it pains my OCD. Maybe it's a mistake in a random set I had, or a campaigning tactic from LEGO to get me to complete the set . . .

Wow, another contender for most owned set on brickset. This one greatly exceeds the ownership from four days ago by 60%, approaching 20000!

It's funny cause I remember in 2011, a lot of people complained about this set because no one wanted an army of bomb squad troopers; but now everyone loves it!

With this set, my interest in making a "clone army" from battle packs finally started to lose steam. The lack of regular infantry clones irked me, especially the presence in this set of two bomb squad clone troopers with their orange helmets but pale white markings to represent the original white of the clone armor. I never built the speeder bikes out of the 2 copies of this set that I bought, so perhaps I'm missing out.

@Snaz:
With minifig-scale vehicles you can either make them look good, or you can make them look accurate. With Speed Champions, you can see two conflicting paths. The early 6-wide cars made more sense with a minifig standing next to them, but there are lots of inaccuracies that result (too long compared to their width, only seat one minifig, etc.). The new 8-wide cars look better as stand-alone models, but minifigs look like toddlers standing next to them.

Between the two BARC Speeders, the 501st's looks more accurate, while this one is closer to minifig scale. Personally, I can see a change that was made for the 501st that would seriously improve this design, which is to change the way the minifig skis are mounted. This has 1x2 plates w/ vertical bars, then 1x1 tiles w/ clips, which pushes them out about a full stud. The 501st uses those neat 1x2 plates w/ axle that were developed for Dimensions, and which plug right into the hollow stud on the ski. This allows them to snug right up to the hull.

@MandalorianCandidate:
There are a lot of Jedi who would disagree with you...if they weren't killed after Order 66.

@CapnRex101:
A lot of the battle packs have vehicles that I'm not really familiar with, so I can't really comment on their accuracy.
7914 has a really nice Balutar swoop design that's probably as small as you can make it given the current part selection. 75267 has a cleaner design, but at the expense of being larger. But I have to say, probably the most accurate means of transportation, both in terms of general aesthetics, and scale to minifigs, is 79106. Also, why isn't 7595 tagged as a battle pack?

7913 my beloved. I have so many of this set

By in United States,

Oh, I had this one! Loved it too! Sadly, I lost all the figs but the bomb squad troopers

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It took a while for the minifigs to grow on me, but I always loved the speeder. I'm glad I rebuilt it.

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

I like how the controls are constructed in this design. I'll use it in my mocs too.

By in United States,

The speeder in this set was used as the reference for the Clone Wars multiplayer game released about that time. In the game you could speed-boost them and jets of exhaust sprouted from the engines. Mowing down the tidy square battalions of battle droids was extremely satisfying.

Incredible BARC speeder bike design. They made it with burgundy trim instead of green in the geonosis droid cannon artillery thing set in the next wave, I think. It's also kinda weird that they gave the double slot to the bomb squad trooper, of all things. They were in literally one ep of The Clone Wars, and when I was a kid and got a few of these sets, I had forgotten all about them on the show. And I didn't realize that they were bomb squad troopers. So I played with them as firemen clones. The bright orange was obviously bad for camouflage in my little kid mind, so I reasoned that they were the clone trooper fire brigade. Good times. I believe the greenish clone is one of Jedi General Eeth Koth's company, who also were only in a few seconds of one episode of TCW. Still a great color palette.

By in Australia,

Got this one! I believe it was one of my first Star Wars sets (along with The Battle of Naboo and the Hoth Rebel BP), and it’s still built. I think I lost one of the bomb squad troopers though.

Absolutely terrific set!

Nearly, isn't it! It is the most-owned Prequel (era) set, which is quite an achievement.

Just as hindsight is always 20:20, nostalgia is always rose-tinted. :-)

Now this one holds a special place in my heart mostly because it's my first Star Wars set. Gotta say, it still holds up to today's standarts.

You mean Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars? I love that game, I hope the Skywalker Saga has similar ground battle levels.

By in United Kingdom,

Certainly a great little set, that’s a great speeder and it’s four minifigs for a pretty tidy price.

My issue is that those minifigs are all kinda specialised. I would have preferred the BARC Trooper and three normal clones. Or two normal clones and that commander in sand green maybe. Purely from my army builder perspective of course, I’m sure people who like collecting the unique were thrilled to have bomb troopers as another showcase especially as they came in such an easy to acquire set

By in Netherlands,

I don’t think a RSOTD comment section has ever been this flooded with love comments. Like, there’s not a single joke comment or anyone making fun of this set, which usually can be found right at the top of the page. I totally agree with all the love though, this truly is an amazing set. Yes, for army-builders it’s not great, but that’s the case for a lot of battlepacks nowadays anyway and this one is rather good still compared to some recent ones... I personally LOVE the orange design on the bomb squad troopers, I know they’re very obscure but orange is my favorite color and these just pop. The ARF trooper has one of my all-time favorite SW helmets and definitely my favorite clone helmet, and while the Horn Company commander doesn’t hold any special value to me, he’s still a great fig. And yes, the BARC is undoubtedly still the best design yet. It’s the perfectly compromise of accuracy and size, which again, can’t be said of a lot of modern speeders...

Great set. I bought this 8 times for the figures.

By in Germany,

This was an amazing battlepack! I'd love to have more special clones battle packs in the future.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I remember getting it for birthday from my flatmates during university time. It was the first push to getting back to actively buying LEGO.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Excellent Army builder, ended up w/3 of these sets. Bought two and got a 3rd copy in 66396 Super Pack, which was a wonderful gift from my very sweet mother-in-law.

That image really misrepresents how white the printing on the orange helmet wasn't.

Yeah, CGI doesn’t understand bleedthrough unless you program it in.

I remember seeing the bomb squad clones in a lego comic and found them so cool. I made one using the helmet from a normal clone trooper on an X-wing pilot.

By in United States,

I missed this and a number of battle packs during my Dark Ages (except for a few that my mother gifted me at various Christmas-times, even into my 30s, god bless her - on a related note, she passed in 2017, and I miss her SO much), but I had to buy that Horn Company commander on the secondary market because SAND GREEN. He's probably my favorite clone minifigure.

As far as I can remember, my very first SW battle pack. The ARF Helmet is amongst my favorites headgear lego mold. And still today one of my favorite Lego SW helmet.

Excellent add-on to any set, and also appears in both superpacks 66377 and 66396.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I think I've got most if not all of this set. I bought a bunch of used Star Wars sets from a colleague dirt cheap, and this was part of the mix of parts he threw in as a bonus.
