- Hello! I'm mr. Fikou, or Samuel, and I'm a TFOL from the Netherlands.
I'm a very big fan of LEGO with the ambition to once become an official designer in Billund. I probably spend way too much time with LEGO-related things, be it building (usually digitally), browsing Brickset, watching videos, or searching the online marketplace for the best deals.
I first got into a LEGO community by joining a Bionicle-related Discord server, sometime in 2018 I believe. I might've commented on certain videos before that, but those hardly count. That's also where my username originates: the Fikou spider polybag was one of the few Bionicle things I owned at the time and so I decided to use that as nickname. I met a bunch of awesome people there, and although I currently don't have much time to spend with them at all, they still hold a special place in my heart. Since then I've joined more servers and also became more active in other online communities, albeit still a lot less than I'd like to.
I don't have a favorite theme, there's so many great ones that all have their strengths and weaknesses that it's simply impossible to choose one as the best. My favorites include Mixels, Power Miners, Hero Factory, Bionicle (specifically G2 (this is only based on the products)), Ninjago, Creator and Elves. There's a bunch more I really like, but sadly I don't have much of those sets and the list would also get way too long if I were to name them all.
Apart from collecting and building, I also really like to take pictures of my LEGO stuff. Sometimes that means photographing my MOCs, but more often it means I take LEGO constraction figures and pose them in funny ways to create storylines or scenes. I also do this at special locations or occasions. you can find the full collection of these (over 150 at the time of writing) on my Flickr page simply called mr. Fikou.
My other Flickr account is dedicated to that one dream I mentioned in the beginning: becoming an official LEGO designer. That one's called Fikous Customs and it's the place where you'll find most of my proudest MOCs (which means all the ones I didn't forget to take pictures of when I was younger).
